Down South
I've just scanned the local press and read an article about a family that moved into a house and land that bounds a gun club that has been on that site since before the war. The woman photographed with son, horse and half an orange clay, states that, " we were aware a gun club was next door". She goes on to say she now wears a flourescent vest and ear defenders while a shoot is on, stating that, "surely there should be a law to protect us from firearms, stray clays and and loud gun fire while we are in our own house and garden". The gun club has bent over backwards to accomodate them. God save us because with people like this around we're all doomed!
dunganick
if you dont like it, dont buy a house next to it
njc110381
There's always some plank that has to moan. As you say, why buy a house next to a gun club if you don't agree with shooting? Personally, I'd love to live that close. Maybe take on the role of groundskeeper in exchange for a few free rounds when it's quiet

apbuild
Had a local clay shoot that was closed down for the same reason as stated. A family from London moved in to the countryside near to the 'King william shoot' and within three months they had closed it down due to noise pollution. What a family of plebs! If you are coming from the big city to the country, check out the local land first. Makes my blood boil. Rob.
Markio
I live next door to a pub, sometimes ****** people stagger out of it late at night. Bizzare. Agreed, bunch of plebs.
digger
maybe send them a winged one they can nurse back to health.or tell them to go back from whence they came and shut the hell up ? of course the more exteme would suggest posting bits of broken clays to them or nailing a clay to their gatepost. bloody incomers, make a mint in town and expect life in the country to be like it is in glossy mags

flytie
I know a farmer in my old home county of Yorkshire, who had some townies move into a house that bordered his land, and they moaned about everything! When he applied to the council for permission to put up some chicken (layers) houses (big ones I admit) they campaigned and had his application quashed. He then built some on some other land of his on a disused airfield some miles away. But guess where he spread his slurry?------- Yep got it in one They moved thank goodness, we moved in and my dad got the shooting over the farm. The smell? My old man said, "its was one of the pleasures of living in the countryside boy". Ft
Gordon R
The noise - she should have expected. No sympathy whatsoever. Stray clays - that's something else. If they are sending clays on to her land, they will get closed down and rightly so. I shot at a club many years ago, whose Skeet range pellets kept rattling a local farmer's windows. The club couldn't understand his problem, which was stupid of them. They are no longer in business - I wonder why. Whether she is a crank or a bit over-sensitive, they are going to have to deal with what she says or the writing is on the wall.
Ferret Master
I will have to dig it out but I believe that somebody wrote into my local paper last week moaning about sheep poo on the chalk grass lands by Westbury White horse. He got a roasting in this weeks paper telling the townie to go back where he came from. FM
