Hairy Pat
Usually happy to see me shooting and fishing as long as I keep on top of the jobs at home. I'm lucky that she is a cracking cook and enjoys cooking what I kill (as long as I deal with the acky bits) . Of course bunches of flowers every so often, help no end. pin
Mine is veggie and tolerates it, but in a moment of brilliance I pointed out that if I was out with any of the guns and the car, I wasn't able to go to the pub chasing skirt - so now when I go out I think she's more than happy
digger
an average days shooting costs me £300. diesel to get to the farm £5,shells (on a good day ) £30. the credit card bill from her going to lakeside ? £265 minimum so,no,she dont mind a bit
Frank
Mine is a pain at times, more so when we were first getting to know each other, as she wanted me with her all the time, now she knows what im like, but her possesiveness still gets on my wick. She relies on me for het entertainment and hates my ferrets. In fact, we have just had a row about me getting a Lurcher pup. She wants the garden surrounded by flowers and her ******* ****-zu's and not my 'smelly ferrets' as she so kindly puts it. Frank.

Dave-G
Mines great as long as I scrub my boots and take them off before I come in. Yip, sometimes she checks them for the tiniest amount of mud. She often makes me a pasty to take with me - possibly to encourage me to stay out longer
Dunkield
Mine couldn't be any better realy, I don't disapear off as often as you boys do for nights out at the farm etc, but I do go away with the boys at least 5-6 times a year. This year and next year for the first couple of times we will be away for a week, and she is absolutely fine with that. Mind you, I had to take the family on 2 holidays in the summer to balance it up a bit
Markio
I go out every 2 weeks or so and she doesn't mind at all. She's of the opinion that when i go out shooting i'm having some 'my time', and she's right, it's the only time i get to myself. As long as you don't take the **** then theres no reason you can't spend some time doing something for you.
Dunkield
As long as you don't take the **** then theres no reason you can't spend some time doing something for you. Markio, Thank you, I couldn't (and didn't) put it any better myself I think it helps if you have always done shooting, or anything else for that matter from the start, if you suddenly start going off and doing stuff it may come as more of a shock. It also relies on the partner being fairy independant and self sufficient as well. I used to go off to work abroad for 3 months at a time, so me being away for a few days isn't exactly a hardship in comparison

Mine doesn't mind, I have a policy of only shooting what I will eat or use in some way and she understands that. Some funny looks on her face when I wandered in with various dead things She keeps rabbits, and recently I brought a few in to skin. She wanted to touch the fur for some reason, and watched me skin one. I was very surprised

pin
Indeed, I think I have nearly convinced her to try some duck, I make everything smell as good as possible and I know she's sat there wanting to have a crack at it, one day

miffy
My wife doesn't mind at all. When we got together 13 years ago she did try and stop me going out shooting (i was lamping 3 or 4 nights a week and pigeon shooitng whenever possible). she soon came round to the idea and even when i go away on stalking trips at short notice (couple of hours notice some times) she doesn't mind, she even packs my bag for me. She is the best and thats why i married her last week
