Good luck one and all.and keep pumping ! Steve I hope you get a better price than the holts guide! Also it’s described as having an oversize safety, when it’s actually a lefty with a spare right handed. If I had a spare slot I would have made my way west for it! Good luck with the sale Steve

Competition for mossbergs if so I have the 28inch barrel on this. You can get one of the multi chokes, and get a hushpower moderator added onto it. But I only clayshoot, and a hushpower would only be a gimmick
Downforce
I did list my Winchester 1897 in the private guns for sale on PW I took it out for some pictures for the listing and forgot how lovely condition it is and I'm actually thinking I should keep it as it will only become more valuable? Thoughts? I therefore thought I'd share the pictures here too and ask anyone in Pump Club if they know where the serial number for date checker is for Winchester 1897s - I think I looked when I got it but cant remember Edited July 24, 2024 by Downforce

impala59
Here I go again! After a painful thinning of the collection a while back, I couldn't let this one pass. I owned a new Browning BPS and didn't use it much as it was very shiny and I suppose I got a bit precious over damaging the finish, silly really, but I sold it on and as always in these situations, of course regretted it. This one was up for auction and I won it for £120 (+fee) Having now got it home I was pleasantly surprised to find; No dings in the wood or metal, relatively clean (aside from the bore that needed a carbon cleaner and severe brushing to bring it back to mint) a Kick-eez butt pad which makes it the right length for me and a decent Hi-vis sight. The wood to metal fit is excellent, which is, IMHO, one of the only slight failings of the new model BPS. It has the pleasant 'classic' shotgun patina, a little wear in places from use. Total strip down, clean and light oil and it is as slick as can be. Looking forward to some fun clays in the near future! My new (old) BPS 12g 26" cyl. S2 at present but may return it to S1 in the future as it will easily take a decent mag tube extension

Sco77w
So who’s got all the Ithaca DSPS shotguns? I had one and sold it instantly getting a massive bout of sellers regret. I could very well be looking to treat myself to another. feel free to DM me with anything for sale.

There is a deluxe 37 on the next Holts main sale list: https://www.holtsauctioneers.com/asp/fullcatalogue.asp?salelot=A1224+++1597+&refno=++221641&saletype= I've not seen one before. It seems to have a painted, rather than blued receiver.

SM1976
looking at buying a Mossberg pump action. Does anyone know if they are steel proofed - seller has been very open to say he has had mixed advice on this question. Barrel states Accu-Choked and some say that this means they are Steel proofed

Barrel states Accu-Choked and some say that this means they are Steel proofed I would suggest much depends on the age of the gun. Accu-chokes are simply Mossberg factory chokes and inter-changeable with Browning Invector ( not plus ) chokes, which like the gun itself, may or may not be HP steel shot proofed. Personally it wouldn’t bother me either way, my old Mossberg S1 pump was fixed at cylinder and not HP proof, but it never came to any harm. Bombproof is an apt description. Omitted to add, if there is no Fleur delys stamp on the gun ( the seller can easily find this ) then it’s not HP steel shot proofed regardless of age. Thanks Scully. it's a Mossberg 500 but not sure of age. For the price, it's worth taking the chance
Scully
Quite. Have just had a look. Looks a good enough gun. If it was HP proofed I think the seller would have made a point of it, as that would have been a selling point and added to its value. Saying that I’d have no qualms about buying that. If you’re at all concerned just shove a wide open choke in it and have fun. I can assure you it’s more than capable of handling HP steel. It’s American and built like a tank, and over there ( the US ) they’re putting more than UK CIP rated HP loads through them. 👍 1 hour ago, SM1976 said: Thanks Scully. it's a Mossberg 500 but not sure of age.
