Ears
Save your money. Go and see some farmers or game-keepers. Dont encourage paying for pigeon shooting. You will only get ripped off anyway.

Cranfield
There are quite a few days being offered for a small charge in the "Shooting available" section, with some good comments from members that have been customers. Some of the days offered are also free.
The Ghost
It is a great way to get out with like minded shooters, the lads that I know charge for odd shooting days to fund other things they may be doing. I know one PW member who was charging a small fee for Roost shooting to buy Owl Boxes for one of his permissions. Same bloke has set up Buzzard breeding boxes in various sites around here and works with RSPB putting up small bird breeding boxes.....respect to you. Things are never always what they may first seem? Edited February 23, 2013 by The Ghost

The Ghost
He's a good guy Ghost even if he does extract the urine about your new gundog. Lol It's a shame PW members don't let others know what they do in the area they live, the true countryside men will always put it back.Same Bloke asked if I could look at stocking a small lake he has on his permission, as you know this will cost....but as soon as he asks for £15 for the shoot others will say what a rip off. This will be offered to PW members first, he is also looking to add 300 Pheasant for PW members to shoot. Pay for your shooting for you and your mate....but head out to The Fens you will love it. Good luck finding someone, and go off what others say...they will keep you right. To those who say "never pay for shooting" they all have their own permissions and don't have too. I will pay for a good days shooting any time, and looking forward to next week for my next one.....knowing I will have a great day.

Was thinking of trying to get a couple of days myself on pigeons somewhere later on in the year.
fabarm gamma boy
i landed at a barley feild today that didnt get harvested at around 10am must of been 5-600 pigeon and a load of crows! i cleared the feild of birds as best i could, set up my decoys, i put 24 crows out and 12 pigeon shells, groups of pigeon were flying round the feild over my decoys all day but would not commit! crows however decoyed well snd i made a decent bag! i choped and changed the deeks but the woodies would not play ball! maybe needed more decoys! pain in the backside when the birds are there but you dont know what putting them off

Sometimes, you can be just a bit too far from a flightline and a 20m move can make all the difference.

JDog
Fabarm gamma boy In one post you say that Cumbria has to be the worst county for decoying pigeons and then in another you say you saw 500 - 600 pigeons feeding on unharvested barley. I fear that your observation skills and fieldcraft are somewhat lacking. Unharvested barley will have been a draw for pigeons since last Autumn and almost certainly they will have been decoyable at some stage and in some weather conditions. Just get out and watch sometimes and leave your gun at home so that you are not tempted to dive straight in without watching the flight lines. pboro shot
I think people need to remember paid days are far from rip of i can only comment from my own perpective we never just sell days sitting in a field we will show you bird activity and in most cases birds feeding you should be paying for a organised day not just dumped in a field
