CZ550Kevlar
Be prepared for a mega long and rather random list, it's very much personal taste and budget. I would lay good money on clear pigeons being probably the most popular.

TIGHTCHOKE
Gamebore/Kent Velocity 29 gramme 6s seem to work well. Rio Classic Game 30 gramme 6s were always my standard shell for most things.
evo
Eley hawk hb pigeon just bought a slab of them in 6 1/2 s . only used a couple but seem very good, if your after a decent cart for pigeons then any will do as long as they are cheap, no 6,s seem to be the prefered size but even 7 1/2.s will do close enough
wymberley
Assuming decoying and ignoring the two extremes of ranges, 61/2 - 2.5mm - Eley or, if you can find them, Rottweil. Really, though any 6, 61/2 or 7 will suffice but avoid using clay pigeon loads - a sporting bird deserves to be treated as such.

TIGHTCHOKE
Where do you get your carts from, Chichester armoury ? The Gamebore/Kents come from Whittlesey Gun Shop in Cambs and the Rio's from CCI in Corby!

silver pigeon 3
is £54 an ok price for clear pigeon 32g 6s cheers for the help guys A good cartridge, i think better than the price tag, put it in a high brass case and badge it as a game load and it would sell for a lot more

Who is the more sporting shooter, the one killing birds stone dead with 'clay' cartridges or the one pricking birds with a 'pigeon' cartridge? It's the one who is using the most suitable cartridges and that wont be the cheapskate shooting clay cartridges. fabarm gamma boy
Get some black gold game and be done with it.....best cartridge out there at the moment true, every game shooter i know uses them or eley vip! just very expensive when you go through as many as i do! iv tried a few cartridges and tbh the black gold killed better at longer ranges than most others! sitsinhedges
What a poor reply to a sensible question. The premise of the question was bogus. You wont ***** a pigeon with a cartridge designed for the job when a clay cartridge would have killed it. That's just wishful thinking. fuzzypigeon
Get 28g 6 then....

You wont ***** a pigeon with a cartridge designed for the job when a clay cartridge would have killed it. That's just wishful thinking. Not so. If i shot 50 pigeons for 50 shots using a clay cartridge, and another shooter killed 40 and pricked 10 with pigeon cartridges, which would be the more sporting shot? And by the way, a pigeon cartridge could indeed ***** a pigeon where a clay cartridge would kill it. The reverse also applies. A lot of shotgun shooting is down to luck - lucky pellets hitting the target etc etc
