TIGHTCHOKE
They interviewed a BASC spokeman who managed to get the point across that most members were compliant with the existing law.

Aled
Not perfect by a long shot but i did not hear anybody from either side of the fence openly state that shooting should be banned (or did i miss something?) Cheers Aled
four-wheel-drive
As I see it the problem with lead is being an element a lead ball on the ground will remain a lead ball forever steel balls will rust away but they are two hard and will not deform when they hit something. Having said that this guy with the ducks could it be that the person who owned the land before him may have used it for shooting clays just a thought as it seems strange that he should louse so many ducks that way. yod dropper
It seems to be more about activities in the country than the countryside itself now. I don't really trust the program. Here is Robin Page: "....I telephoned her. “Yes,” Rebecca said: “I mentioned that predation by badgers was an important factor in hedgehog decline several times and it was edited out.” So there we have it – Countryfile changing the story to avoid the facts, or so it seems....." Full article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthcomment/country-diary/10117911/Country-diary-badgers-are-out-of-control.html I'm not aiming to have a debate on badgers, more on how CF can portray things. Pole Star
Country file is more interested for tv food for the pleb townie masses ie ramblers ,mountain bikers , antis , RSPB zealots ect than real country matters & the program just winds me up ! especially when the anorak himself is on there . Weather forecast is the only bit worth watching ! Edited July 8, 2013 by Pole Star

Weather forecast is the only bit worth watching ! May I venture to say the program is not meant to be for country people it is to tell people who live in towns about what goes on in the country having said that they have to bear in mind that there biggest audience think in turns of fluffy lambs and bunny rabbits so they do not want to upset them by showing them the nitty gritty stuff. scobydog
Just a thought but it is only 45% of people who answered bascs questionnaire who are breaking the law, and except for estuaries and foreshores maybe it should be up to the people who own the land as to what type of shot is used there, after all they are the one's who both own and look after it.
