The Ghost
I heard some very sad news about Cumbrian Shooter Russell Long being killed in a car accident, what made it worse was his brother found him. Russell was a retained fireman at Wigton and his mates were the team called out not knowing what they were to find....just so sad for everyone involved. My thoughts go out to his family and friends at this sad time, I added some of the tributes from his family in the link bellow. http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/tributes-to-firefighter-killed-in-north-cumbria-accident-1.1082801

Lord Geordie
Not good at all. It's bad enough to lose someone with great knowledge, but it's heart breaking to think of his family who have a awful time ahead without him. My heart goes out to them

The Ghost
Just found this very nice tribute to Russell Long from the local Rugby club. This week saw us lose one of the good guys with the sad and untimely death of Russell Long. The following tribute is from the whole club. Russell played Junior, First Team and Wanderers rugby at the club for 20 years and he was a giant presence both on and off the pitch. After he stopped playing, he continued to support the club and was one of those responsible for the Wanderers strip that was produced last season and it proudly boasts his name across the chest. Our heart goes out to Pauline, Harry, Al and the whole family as well as to all his many friends who will miss him so terribly. Our thoughts and best wishes are with those left behind.(Russell is pictured presenting the Wanderers strip that he sponsored at the start of last season to Captain Dan Reed). four-wheel-drive
Terrable thing to happon and I do not mean this in a nasty way but lots of people are killed every day in car crashes why should we care more about him just because he shoots than any of the others a young mother was killed by my house some months ago leaving two children in the car with her unhert. BRNDL
Terrable thing to happon and I do not mean this in a nasty way but lots of people are killed every day in car crashes why should we care more about him just because he shoots than any of the others a young mother was killed by my house some months ago leaving two children in the car with her unhert. Because shooting is the only real connection we have with this individual, it feels more personal to me. Rest in peace.

It's called a bit of respect, something that you seem to be lacking.
The Ghost
Terrable thing to happon and I do not mean this in a nasty way but lots of people are killed every day in car crashes why should we care more about him just because he shoots than any of the others a young mother was killed by my house some months ago leaving two children in the car with her unhert. This was a young man who loved the outdoor life, he offered clay shooting on his own land to all his friends for no return, he put his own life at risk every time he was called to a fire or road accident and saved countless lives. My thoughts and respect go out to a keen shooter, to his friends and family and his six year old little girl who I know will miss him more than I can put in words.
