Big Mat
Gun, cartridges, flask, pull through for the gun, permit, usually something to eat, all that in the rucksack and have the gamebag to sit on. My coat is a two piece thing so i usually have one piece in my bag when walking on. Dog whistle and calls, small torch. Waders, stick, dog etc Balaclava is always handy as well! kent
Depends were and when for what. The trick is to make do with the least amount possible for the purpose, not a competition on who can carry the most kit. You might even get away with just the gun and a few shells and the clothes you are stood up in (don't tell me I need a compass if there is a big sea wall on one side of me as I walk out and its on the other walking back not more than a few feet away (sand or open marsh yes). The dog is part of it for me, yet shooting 2ft deep flashes in daylight perhaps even he is not essential. The thing is waiting around for flight or general refreshment etc. for me It might just have to be the thermos of hot coffee
fandango
Got to agree with "Kent" Dog,gun, carts, bag, warm-waterproof coat/pants,Welles/waders,,,,,, calls are always in me jacket pocket along with apacket of fishermans friends,,, carts are at a maximum of 20, if i shoot them all i have had one hell of a good morning / night,,,,compass is on phone along with gps, maybe a foldable net dependant on where I am going',,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but defiantly without a doubt a Flask of coffee,,, maybe even decoys but only the bare minimum,,, might take a stick if I know I will be into a soft muddy area, or creeks,,,, thing is to keep things to a minimum as you have a long walk and with any luck your kit will weigh a lot heavier on the home ward journey with a few ducks or geese,, I always leave behind all thoughts of the outside world,,,,,,,,,, as you really don't need them when your sitting on the marsh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wildfowler
if you spend enough time on the marsh, at some point you'll get caught short! And there are no big leafy plants or trees out there!!!
henry d
I`ll add to the above, fresh clothes and a towel for yourself in the car, just incase your waders leak or you take a wee dip.
