I had a knock on the door today,

i could see there was two people , anyway as soon as i opened the door,i booklet was thrust towards me by a young girl,

instantly i knew she was a JW..anyway, not being rude,( i had the door a jar to keep the dog in), I said , sorry sweet pea, i am a humanist,

then the adult poked her head around the corner...whats a humanist? ..well it only turns out to be the sister of one of my customers  so i explained, i don't believe in any god as such, more in evolution and the big bang, etc etc

anyway, I had not been in long coming back from the field, she must of picked up this from the camo gear  do you shoot she asked me, yes i replied..i shoot rabbits and pigeon , and i eat them.... How do you bleed them, she said

I don't , they are stone dead by the time i pick them up.... she then said , do you know, the blood carries the sole of the animal... i just couldn't help myself... my reply was... that explains my love of carrots and corn then :)

she wished me well and left.....:lol:

i wasn't rude, but very pleased with myself for a quick reply

Best way to get rid of them my mother found was to have my father's cremate remains to hand.

Couple of them fetched p at her door in Whitby shortly after my dad was cremated.

Got nowhere with mother so asked to speak to the man of the household.

Mother replied that was not possible and they would find him even more problematic to talk to than her.

Male JW replies, well we find the man is a better listener.

Mother fetches urn with father in, places in on top of gate post and says go on then, convert that ******!

Off like Insane Bolt!

I tend to ask them if they are JW if they say yes I say I'm sorry but I am not intarested and they usualy have a little talk about my Jack Russell who will have got out and that is it. I hate people who are rude to them as even though I do not beleve in gods I respect other peoples rite to do what they think is rite and after all they mean well.

Four-wheel-drive, your wrong, they 'think' they mean well. The witnessed reality is that they take advantage of the weak minded or lonely, those at a low ebb or recently having suffered a bereavement and then the claws go in. Once you let them in they will only very reluctantly leave you alone.

Their religious ceremonies are nothing other than brain washing in the simplest form, repetition of key points over and over again until it is ingrained.

It is a religion that divides families and breaks homes.

I worked with a JW once, I was a sparkie for an agency and he was the job foreman, In those days they used to come up to you on a Friday and say we don't need you Monday but this feller could not tell a lie so I got three weeks notice because I asked him how long I had left and jumped ship when another job came up. Bit of a shame really because he fell off a ladder the day after I left and the firm was begging me to come back and finish the job. Its a shame his imaginary friend was too busy to save him.

Surprised no one has mentioned David Icke yet, the colour purple oooooo!!

I'll give you lot a while longer.

Seriously, brought up RC, I hated it; as soon as I left school (which defo controlled and regulated your entire life, using violence if needed (in their eyes) and sometimes when not) I chucked the whole lot. Never go to church unless its hatch, match or despatch and then reluctantly.

I have lived my life since then trying not to hurt anyone either physically or emotionally. (doesn't always work though, people being people).

if I feel the need for "salvation" I'll go and find it my self and it will not be from a door knocker.

My wife has her instructions, if I go first there had better not be any kind of clergyman present at my planting. Told her I will haunt her for the rest of her time if she gets one.

If people feel they need a crutch and religion gives them that fine.

I was christened C of E and attended a wedding at the weekend in a Catholic Church, while weve got you captured 35 minutes of hyms and religious readings **** before the actual wedding started. The vicar, pastor whatever Catholics call them was even wearing a mike for the PA system, church wasn't very big. After such long drawn out ordeals no wonder more and more folks are choosing non religious venues for marriage.

Don't go bothering others.

One could say that if people are week minded and lonly it may well be a good thing to give them a reason to carry on living I can only speak as I find them and they have always been ok to me.

I don't think there is any reason to be rude, at the end of the day, they are still people, no matter what they believe in,

I had another situation a year ago when a guy called, we had a good chat , both wished each other well only to find 3 weeks after ,

he was the builder on the site i was working at.. and not a word of religion was spoken

You still hurting on behalf of the miners. I've got relatives who excercised their 'right to buy'. They say it is the best thing any politician did for them. I think there were another 1.5 million who think the same, both southerners and northeners. They must all like me, be a misguided loony.

While I am not really that religious I do take strong issue with the JW`s mainly because of the door knocking. I see the door knocking as an invasion of my privicy, if i wanted them and there booklets I would go find them or pick up the phone. I think its extreamly rude to go around door knocking like this, I never buy from the door and wont give any charity or campaign any of my time other than to to say no thanks.

Live and let live as they say,no other religion knocks doors like this lot and our estate seems to get a real regular targeting especally the old lady 3 doors down whos a widow and afraid to leave the house, yet they keep praying on her.

Regards

Matt
