The Essex Hunter
With the first shot around 300/400 teal and widgeon lifted up out of the main river then a good number came up in small bunches giving us a good bit of sport for a short while…. Bow the black lab was on top form picking birds from the deep mud… TEH

chrisjpainter
Nice shooting mate. I know nothing about duck shooting, so the only duck I eat comes from the supermarket alas. Tell me, is there much taste difference between our various species of duck? Is a teal tastier than a mallard? does a wigeon out flavour a gadwall? I'm totally ignorant about them, and that doesn't taste good in the mouth!

I will eat the mallard breasts with a Chinese stir fry as I find it to strong on its own. TEH

How a bird tastes doesn't feature too highly with that hobby!
kent
Hey, I like watching them and it rates quite highly with most of us wildfowlers. Shooting and eating likewise, there is no conflict
