When putting screws into a wooden boat dip the thread into varnish first it holds them and creates a waterproof seal

As above but with silicone sealant for inside wet or waterproof areas.

As for using butter to lubricate a screw, I'd prefer to use it as lubricant to screw :innocent::whistling::lol:

If the curry that you're cooking from scratch is a bit thin then add a couple of tablespoons of porridge oats just before the end of cooking. It will thicken the curry and make it really creamy.

Or instant mash. Just a little, and it does the same but without the creaminess.

Wd40 is a miracle substance and should be carried by everyone, even cured piles. Apparently.

I think that Ballistol is even *more* "universal":

The universal oil - well-tried and unequalled! For

maintaining metal, wood, leather, rubber, synthetic

material, skin, animals' coat and much more. Ideally suited

for handicraft, industry, agriculture, household, gardening,

vehicles, fishing, hunting and shooting sports

Note the "animals' coat" bit. How many *other* gun oils come with that reccommendation?

Regards,

Mark.
