Just woundering if I should buy the same again or what other semi autos are there and how do they compare to my 10/22. Sorry im sure this has been asked many times before

wildrover77
The new rugers are rubbish. Plastic trigger group. Just buy a new stock, and get the metal refinished on your existing gun Edited December 22, 2013 by wildrover77
simon1979
i didnt know the rifles had been re designed like that, yes it might be worth doing that, can you do much to improve the barrel?
Rimfireboy
i didnt know the rifles had been re designed like that, yes it might be worth doing that, can you do much to improve the barrel? Yes, swap it. Look at rimfire magic if you want to spend some money,lol...
welshwarrior
Loads of RFDs have old standard Ruger barrels lieing around from when customers swapped to after market ones. Worth an ask

Bansk65
Or just redo it yourself. I got one given 2 weeks ago,It had seen better days. You tube and a bit of TLC, with gun blue and true oil, it looks like new and is sweet as a nut, I love mine better than my wife.
pond digger 007
Rude fat dog is another if your in the mood to spend some cash on your 10/22. Yes I have one, Kidd barrel & trigger, Tactical inovations action and TRex stock. In fact I think the only Ruger part is the magazine (unfortunately I hate that bit). The rifle is accurate. As for factory rifles, I have an anschutz 522 and in my view its better than a 10/22. But, I think the handiest factory rifle is the Browning Buckmark. Dekers
If you like it and it does everything you want but fancy a new one get another then. If you don't like it and/or find it lacking, what is wrong with it and what are your expectations of a different rifle?
Paddy Galore!
i didn't mind my 10/22 until i bought an anschutz 525, it was probably the best semi i've had, except maybe the buck mark i presently own, but as has been said the trigger needs work. simon1979
well mine is ok, but as you know its not the mos taccurate of rimfires, but it does the job. So im woundering weather its worth spending a bit on uprgades and mods, or weather to save my money and put in towards a different make. Salop Matt
Other than for on the range I just dont get the point in semi auto .22lr`s. I would say switch to a good bolt action. With a semi auto your leaving empty brass everywhere if you cant retain it and i cant imagine land owners being happy with that. Or am I missing something ? ATB Matt ahem i've been told a couple of times to clear up the brass from the yard, i do go over it with a brush but it never seems to get them all. surprising how far the cases get thrown my advice would be to just be aware where the cases are going and try not to let them on the roadways and paths
welshwarrior
Fit or make a brass catcher easy.
bisondan
I shot my M&P 15-22 for the first time today. Just used the open sights as I'm waiting for a rest to turn up so I can get the scope I have with it zeroed in accurately. Put 50 rounds of RWS subs through at 50 metres, cycled them beautifully and the thing makes no noise (apart from the action cycling) with the SAK moderator attached. Granted it's not a cheap bit of kit and not everyone's cup of tea but I like it. Dan
huntsman
rimfire magic 10/22 http://www.gunwatch.co.uk/guns/1694-Ruger-rimfire-magic-10-22-fully-supressed-for-sale Like rocking horse poo to get hold of this one sold for £400 same day. I have seen a few, but would love to have one, full length mod super quiet worth every penny Edited December 24, 2013 by huntsman
Salop Matt
Fit or make a brass catcher easy. Looks a nice short and pointable rifle that, ideal for shooting from a vehicle ! ATB Matt
simon1979
Yes the full lenght mod would be good, Ive not had any probs with the case being left either, there so small you dont really see them, unless your putting 100's down in one place. ATB Matt Great in the jeep and light for walking I had a full length barreled mod for a short while but struggled getting it to cycle subs so the same 12.5" style barrel with a SAK worked great.
