Reeceknight
a few weeks ago it was a nice day and me and the other half was bored, so me being a country boy, and the girlfriend being a shopping yuppy type I took her for a big walk, she put on her hunters and rapped up and we took the dog out, about an hour in a see the game keeper. When I stop to chat he explains there waiting for the hunt to come past, so I told my girlfriend we should stay and watch because it's good to see etc blah blah blah ........ So once we was home and in front of the fire she changes her Facebook statues to "had a lovely relaxed day with the boyfriend, country walk, see the hunt for the first time, now watching tv infront of the fire" it was along them lines anyway, when everyone jumps on there high horse and started ranting to her, enough to upset her and make her delete her status. one cheeky ****** even went as far to say "you should be ashamed of yourself" who are these people!? We have never ridden hourses or watched the hunt before. lucky I didn't get on her Facebook and write on his status "you should be ashamed sucking all the money from those of us who work hard, you doll scrounging, redbull drinking, online gaming benefit slob" rant over

Kes
Whenever this kind of thing happens and hypocrisy is out and about, I think about those who interpret the will of God via the church for us sinners and molest choir boys/girls.with impunity Just ignore these people. Do you value their opinion ?
SEshooter
I know where your coming from, the other halves mate give me a ****ty comment on face book and removed me when I was tagged in a pic out ferreting. Next time she was round a rushed out to the garage grabbed half a rabbit and went to feed the ferrets. The look on her face was classic, she has not been round since

I don't mind a difference of opinion but having a go puts my back up. A friend I met through work had very strong views about killing any animals. At first she had trouble with the idea I hated the poachers running dogs after deer in the local wildlife reserve. But would go stalking rabbiting etc tarred me with the same brush, in the end she could see the need for stalking/culling but would rather not talk about it. I have can respect that but the trolls on facebook most of whom would never say the comment to your face I have no time for
washerboy
My ex father in law would walk over private grouse moors to destroy snares and larsan traps, and think nothing of it.

SEshooter
That is understandable, if some one does not like hunting then they have the right to not have it rubbed in there face. Like wise people in the hunting community have the right to not be abused for doing what they love. The pic which I was tagged in did not have a rabbit in sight. It was me clambering out of a bush after netting up
poontang
I've got plenty of shooting related stuff on my Facebook page. The art is to only add proper friends/family, and not have thousands of imaginary 'friends' who you don't really know from Adam. All the people on my Fb know I shoot, and (occasionally) kill stuff. I never get any problems from any of them relating to what I do. If I did it would be very simple to delete them.
sonicdmb
I never rub it in anyone's face. I do take the opportunity to talk about the merits of shooting etc and some like my friend are open to other opinions others your just wasting your breath. SEshooter
I'm not saying you do rub it in anyone's face, more agreeing with what you said " she would rather just not talk about it". I take every opportunity to talk to people about my hunting exploits. If they don't like it then that's the end of it. However if they show interest I could talk for hours. There is nothing better than having someone who loves the sport or for that matter what to know more even if they then say "not for me" talk about shooting/hunting. With a few exceptions shooters are the most generous polite and hospitable people you can meet. Shame you can't say that about many so called friends particularly the virtual kind. You have to laugh at social media such as Facebook as very few would have the guts to say such things to your face (apart from the stupid and ignorant ones who you will never beat). Too little time in this world to take to heart fools and their insignificant comments - sticks and stones and all that! Best thing would be for your partner to send a message to all something along the lines of she is going to purge her account of idiots and people will see if they made the cut to remain a friend after said cull. Anyway hope you had a great time watching the hunt.
GingerCat
Personally I think fb causes more problems than it sorts so won't use it, as for people's stupid comments, well that just reinforces my view. Having breasted some pigeons a young lady (friend of the family) told me it was cruel to shoot pigeons, i asked her if chickens grow on trees and proceeded to tell her how they died, she had no idea. Don't sweat the silly comments. Life's too short.
sonicdmb
I think Kill it cook it eat it should be compulsory watching in schools. Might not change their minds but at least the might have a better idea. The only good thing FB is for I can catch up with mates abroad with it I never put status posts on it. On the odd time I bother with it most of it is drivel why on earth do people feel the need to write "having a bath and going to bed" or whatever else to 3000 "friends" most of whom they don't know from Adam.
