shoot and be safe
Many years ago I thought that I too had been a victim of a rather strange Theft. I was in the Military and on exercise. Middle of the night and I felt the need to go. I dragged myself out of the doss bag still half asleep and wandered off on what we called a Shovel Recce. I found a suitable spot and dug a hole. Dropped my trollies and squatted to release the bombload. Once bombs gone, i went to fill in the hole , and you know what? Nothing there. Stolen. Anyway, I wandered back to my doss bag and resumed a nice deep sleep. I think that the thief must have had a conscience though cos when i woke up several hours later I found that he had returned my earlier stolen deposits and had somehow , very kindly put them in my trousers!!

wraivi
Someone knicked my wheelie bin on weds, wouldn't mind but it was for empty cans so ain't gotta clue where my empty tinnies are bound for, not like we live on a a big road there's only 12 houses in the culdesac :( Had mine go the other day. Fortunately, my neighbour was around too see the bin men on bin day lift it on the truck to ' use for collecting contents of the food bins as they've just broke theirs! ' When she asked what I was meant to do for a bin now, a shoulder shrug was the response. *******! Had my neighbour not witnessed this, I'd be thinking theft too. It took 2 weeks for delivery of a replacement after a whinge at the council. A real PITA.
rimfire4969
With a caravan and camping site we have had many things stolen that cost almost nothing, in some cases if they asked they could have them. Loo brushes and holders Shower curtains Door mats Toilet rolls The thing you stand dishes on after you have washed them Fence panels Concrete posts 1100 ltr big wheelie bin 5mph signs Park bench Plant pots To be honest every season something different disappears. Bad drills! You failed to pull trollies and trews fwd out of the DZ before releasing the bombs from the bomb bay! School boy error!
chrisjpainter
Cast iron Victorian fireplace. sounds expensive, really wasn't. what made it more odd was what wasn't stolen: Chainsaw, hedge strimmer, electric drills etc. all in the same part of the shed, all on show and easily pinched, none of them anywhere near as heavy as the fireplace. funny old world

English archer
Either this http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/253731-anything-that-isnt-nailed-down/ or A few weeks before christmas we had some fire wood stolen from near our bins, it was near the bins, and not undercover, as we had a sewage overflow, and the wood was sat in sewage for a few days. old rooster
Bad drills! You failed to pull trollies and trews fwd out of the DZ before releasing the bombs from the bomb bay! School boy error! Similar thing happened to a guy at college on day release many years ago. Went off to the bogs wearing a boiler suit, must have taken the top off and inadvertently dropped the sleeve down the loo as when he came back he had a rather impressive Richard the third stuck to his sleeve. toplever
You can use it all to your advantage . Round here just leave it on the pavement and it will be gone in an hour or so . I have shifted kids old push-bikes , old computers, foot pumps, gas cookers - anything with a bit of metal in it . In France you just put a sign on a pile of stuff "gratuit" and leave it outside the house - it all evaporates. Have got a 3 ton anchor in the front garden and loads of people have tried to nick it over the years but luckily can't lift it. Did have a bike chain stolen off a push-bike in Highfield Leicester several years ago. Doormat nicked in Kings Heath Birmingham and so hilti nailed the replacement to the concrete. Had my crocs nicked outside the house. Had my Halifax bank contents nicked last week - some chap in India was using a cloned card and cleaned it out . Beware restaurants (especially in Wimbledon) that take a long time to process your card and get called away while processing it!!

smokinggun
Strange as it sounds could be a local burglar, when we got done that was the first thing I noticed when I came home as it lives by the front door - police said they often use a wheelie bin to take away tv's etc as less likely to get tugged pushing a bin than carrying a flatscreen. When two blokes came and stole all the lead where I work from the flashing they also stole two wheelie bins to take it away in, we see the entire thing on cctv when we returned to work after the weekend.
