SNAKEBITE
There is no point in having a "Frequently Asked Questions" section, because nobody would read it. At the top of most sections there are pinned "How to do it" threads, but people still ask the questions that those threads answer. Also, we have a Search facility, but new members rarely use it. This is nothing unique to Pigeon Watch, every Forum that I have ever visited has the same situation. Nobody is obliged to answer a question, or post on a thread. If questions go unanswered, then usually a Moderator will answer, or point the member to the specific thread they need. Its as simple as that. This is not a complaint, just a comment........... The Mods' really do need to start getting a bit stricter. 99% of my posts are in Airguns and General banter so I cannot comment on other sections. Have a FAQ section and when the ".22 or .177" chesnut rears it's ugly head you politley lock the thread and point them in the area of the FAQ's adding if they have anything extra to add that is not covered to start another thread. They will soon get the hang of it. If not they will soon get bored and leave. Any Numptiness gets cut off at the knees and threads locked with an explanation. Zero tolerance may seem a little harsh but would be "flexible" with gun safety? Tret the forum in the same way and it will be even better. General banter should be given a little slack but that is only as long as there is nothing offensive. Normal rules apply.
pin
As axe pointed out we should start a new thread in "suggestions and alterations" if this is to continue...
the pelt man
Hi I have enjoyed the early years on here but I have to admit the same old rubbish keeps cropping up I am fed up with it in my thinking this is armchair shooting talking about it not actually doing it then talking about it.Thanks to all responded to my questions thankyou. Paul. What do you mean: oh Cornflakes for breakfast again. oh i shot a Rabbit last week. oh the alarm clock went off that time yesterday. oh but we made love a month ago darling. oh i drove the Car last time. "THINK ABOUT IT" Do you buy shooting mags, news papers ect ect ect its all the same old, same old If your fed up with the same old thing coming up over & over get yourself a noose, let us get on with repeating ourself ourselfs ourselfs ourselfs ourselfs PELTMAN
Paul in North Lincs.
Question may have been asked before,........... so what?....you don't have to read them nor reply to them....... This is a' live' forum not a 'text book'.....................Personally I enjoy the interaction as much as anything especially discussing topics we all are naturally interested in...... If you dont like it..................simply logg off...who cares? I've been a member for a few years now, and like alot of folk have had short breaks away...............I just dont see what the big deal is??? Dave-G
Whilst a FAQ session would no doubt enlighten a newbie - he is then in some small way denied avoiding the need to say "Hi - how do I do this then"?. Imagine how quiet the forum would be if everyone only read the FAQ's and got the answers to a question? The question and answers themselves are the first interaction with other members, from which you get a feeling about their knowledge, abilities and mannerisms. I hear what you say about becoming repetitive - but we mostly all gain valuable information from these forums - to the point that many of us know more than our Firearms Enquiry Officers. and new members will be just as captivated as you were in the days that you had something to learn. I rarely post here now because I am basically a quiet person with little chit chat. If there is little for you here now, just pop back occasionally when you have some spare time to fill in? ATB, Dave. "Peltman" - oh the alarm clock went off that time yesterday. Outstanding mate
Dunkield
From a personal point of view, I do wonder sometimes, why people post they've had enough. If you want out stop posting, its as simple as that isnt it? It's a cry for help normally, or attention seeking - call it what you want - either way who cares if someone has had enough. Garyb's response said it all
pavman
PW is for all, both the very active and the casual visitor, like all things in life you have a choice of what you read and write, observe and learn or ignore and forget. Lets also not forget, normally when this many nutters and freaks get together to discuss shared interests its a Labour party conference
Rob G
I've been on here for a while now,i haven't made many posts. When as some people put it 'the same old rubbish keeps popping up' the answer is YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ IT.I spend a lot of time on here and have picked up some very useful tips

Cranfield
If claybreaker88 changes his mind and posts again, thats up to him, it shouldn't be seen as a big deal. We all have the right to our say, within reason and to change our minds if we want to. Lets be friends.

Suffolk shooter
I echo FB111's comments. I have only been on here since October and I have met quite a few of the guys on here and had great days with them. The whole likemindedness of the forum is great and although you always get one or two people that post stupid comments (No names Mentioned, but you know who you are), the fact that everybody can give and recieve knowledge is what drives it. If you think its not for you then dont post or log-in, but 88 posts in how long shows that you must know it all and therefore you could actually pass on your knowledge to those of us that don't. Where abouts are you in East Anglia, maybe we could meet up and have a good laugh shooting clays or ferreting, wildfowling, pigeon shooting etc. Offers there mate. Cranfield
What does darebear look like? Its one of life's little mysteries. Some say her beauty is so profound and gracious, that it makes strong men weak at the knees. :look: Others claim one glance from her, can turn a man to stone. Methinks it will remain a secret. beatingisbest
if i hadnt of joined this forum, i'd probably still be trying to get a B2 to group and thinking that it was my fault that it was producing 3" at 20 yards. I would have had little of the knowledge i have now, let alone being granted a shotgun certificate. It is the great people on this forum which makes it so good, if someone says that this forum is repetitive, they obviously havnt read enough :look:
