camokid
hi all i have had some lovely trips out this week been out most days in fact as the weather has been so nice its been hard not too.. i had a bit of a bad luck last week with a dog walker messing up my stalk so i decided to pop back yesterday and try my luck once more.. i finished work at three had a quick batch and a coffee and off again heading to a farm about 30 minutes away.. i arrived at the farm said my hellos and made may way to the hill where i can look over all the fields .within 10 minuets i lovely buck entered the field and stayed with me for the next half hour he was a joy to watch and he eventually went to sleep in the hedge... i was scanning around all the time a was there and after a short time i noticed another buck to my right in the other field i watched him for five minuets then a doe came over and begin to graze with him .. i thought of my root around to them and went on my stalk.. unfortunately two ladies on horses came down the bridle path and moved the deer on ..never mind it was still early at this point i needed a wee so put the gun on the floor and sticks and nipped behind the tree ...just my luck as i was stood there another very large buck appeared in the middle of the field with a doe. i put my little friend away and very slowly made the few feet back to my rifle.. they had both clocked me and was on full alert watching every move i made but they froze long enough for me too get the gun up on my sticks and settle the cross hers on her. as a personal thing i don't tend to take head shots as i am fully aware of the risks but on this occasion it was the only part on show and sitting at around the 100 mark it was well within my rifle and me to take the shot.. a big crack rang out and she was down with no movement at all... as i approached the buck ran down the hill and met up with three other does im sure he will find love once again very soon...lol i was very pleased to find a massive doe in fine condition i sorted her out and made the killer carrie back.. i need a quad lol this is her at home ready for the slice and dice now all done and ready for the chosen dishes .. it was nice to have no shot damage and meat loss... all this for a 50p home loaded bullet you cant beat it..... many thanks andy
