Jega
Dear Mr Formula 1 ,we the viewing public dont really give a toss about "green technology " especially in a racing car nor do we need to know how much fuel each individual driver is using also tyre graining and such like leaves us pretty cold .However what we do do appreciate is this........................................ Get the idea ? Edited May 12, 2014 by Jega
aris
I'll be contrarian here. I like the new hybrid tech they have included in F1. Like many other technologies, these will filter own to our everyday cars in the future.
Kes
Its certainly lacking something ATM - I'm not complaining with Lewis looking good, Jenson needs a new ride. Rule changes need to slow a little and, yes the noise. They have been talking about 'piped' sound effects attached to each car to recapture the 'scream' ? Better, as you suggest, to make it real. drnobsac
Is it me or do the new cars sound as flat as a pancake?i do miss the scream of a engine being used to its max.I attend a lot of vintage motorcycle races, its not just watching the machines, its hearing them, dissapointed to see the noise meter man has made his mark ,.Ah well at least theres still the lovely smell of castrol r . Dunkield
None of those sound as good as a Cosworth DFV IMHO.
Scully
If F1 was as exciting as that ad' I'd gladly subscribe to watch it. Sadly it isn't.

Dunkield
Right old mixed bag of sounds here, they just seem to sound a lot better individually in the English countryside, rather than altogether on a racetrack.
walshie
It's not racing if it doesn't make your ears hurt.
Jaymo
Was so disappointed at the lack of noise I dug through my old 'Toy Box' and found my Scalelectrix Sound generator think- just need to find a 9v batt for it and the equilibrium will be restored. Rexcernui
Easy fix, just get rid of that crook Ecclestone and make it the sport it used to be. I am all for keeping drivers safe but in its current form this is not the sport I am happy with. Bring back long straights and proper power. AVB
The manufacturers insisted on these changes (well Mercedes and Renault at least) as they wanted a way of using F1 to develop future road (hybrid) technology. Apparently Mercedes would have walked without these changes.

Without Ecclestone it would have never become the sport it is/was Like him or loathe him, he did it
