Think I'll leave mine on for old times sake. It runs out next month but it will probably still be on there this time next year as a reminder of when the MOT is due :whistling:

I had one on display on my old landrover for 5 years previous (as well as a current one), I couldn't be bothered unscrewing the holder to swap them around. The current one was just propped up in the ash tray. Pc traffic cop wasn't amused when he thought my tax had run out and then I asked him to look again more towards the middle of the screen. Oh the joys

Well on the 1st Oct,I removed my tax disc from the screen, not because the DVLA website says I could, but because it keeps falling off as the pouch has lost its stickyness.Fortunatly I popped it in the glove box because a policeman asked me today if I had road tax & why I was not displaying a disc( not a traffic officer just an on foot police man who was walking towards my 4x4 as I popping in the butchers)I tried politely advising him what the DVLA website states . However he was not having it,replying"do you see any other vehicles on this road without a disc"."No I dont", I replied,"I do have my disc in the glove compartment". "Well put it back on the windscreen before I give you a ticket was his reply"I started to doubt myself so duly complied, but checked the DVLA website again and it clearly states that you can remove the disc.(think I will get a new pouch and leave it on display till it runs out Jan 15.

A nice little story but not true!

Apparently it is now illegal to have anything on your windscreen except your rear view mirror and is an MOT fail.

Even your sat-nav holder needs to be taken off at MOT time :/

I thought if something on your windscreen was in the sweep area of you wipers it was an offence, not seen anything re the above. 995i do you have a link or verifiable source?

No, but when I took mine for its MOT recently the guy said he had taken the holder out although strictly he should have failed it.

Just repeating what I was told.
