Two G points, where in the north east, cumbria or bordersstock a decent selection to look at? And are they HP fleur de leys steel proof?

Malmo Guns have a selection of CG's'. This link http://www.gueriniguns.co.uk/products/caesar/will answer your question which gun are HP steel proof.

The Clay guns tend to have a 70mm chamber length only.

I have owned 3 DT10's and a DT11, before that I had a custom made EEELLLLL and a deluxe 682, sold them all and got myself a base CG and not only have my scores gone up, hand on heart find it better made and more reliable.

Not really, just trying to integrate fully in this thread.:lol::lol:

Seems there is a lot of passion for CG and that's good to see, does anyone know how they are rated from entry level to top of the range? i.e tempo>summit>Magnus etc etc

Apart from the Invictus they're pretty well all the same mechanically so how they're rated is a matter of configuration & decoration. If you look at the pricing for the standard models the steps are fairly clear but most models are available configured as Impact or Ascent versions too.

I have owned a fair number of guns, of varying quality and cost. I went to Malmo for a Miroku trap gun, a few years ago. Brian pointed me in the direction of a new Guerini Summit trap. I bought it and later sold it, although I did regret the sale.

Whatever anyone says about the finish / woodwork on a Guerini compared to a Beretta or Miroku, the one area you have to notice is what you get extra. The Guerini came with a very nice Negrini case and 9 chokes. Name me another make where you get so many - normally four or five.

I bought an Invictus last September, I was a bit dubious at first as to the quality of the gun but after removing the stock I was quite suprised with the fitting and finish of the trigger mechanisim.

Trigger pulls are very good, on par with a Blaser in my opinion.

The rest of the gun is very well made, wood to metal fit is excellent too, the only thing I have changed is to fit a Kick-eeze pad.

I've owned K-80's, Blaser F3, DT10, Miroku's, 682's and I reckon that the quality is as good as any other brand and better than some more expensive one's.

How do you find the Blaser F3 mate? been looking at getting a bargain second hand one instead of a beretta silver pigeon, and i have an a400 xcel at the moment so should be able to part ex plus not much cash to get one- would be just the base model though!

Is the blaser F3 suitable for rough shooting/driven game as well or is it too heavy/ other factors make it not suitable etc?

Cheers,

Mitch

cant comment on the maxum, but i have been looking at the summit LTD sporter with the case hardened action.

what an absolutey beautiful gun! build quality is good, as is fit and finish.

CG are getting it right, and for the right money too imho.

Have 32" Summit Ltd trap, bought used, brilliant gun, super balance looks a lot more gun than the money I paid for it. Lockable padded case and stock, barrel socks finish it off. Previously had a Beretta Prevail Pro Sport, not a look in on the CG

Blaser are a good gun, but they they seem to thump me a fair bit, that's why I don't shoot one now.

They do game versions as well as clay guns, the early F3's are lighter than the newer ones as the barrels have no provision for fitting weights.

I do think the new ones are too expensive though, when I bought my first one the price was about the same as a Beretta 682.

Thats good to know cheers mate, i will look for one slightly older therefore lighter and cheaper! i dont mind the recoil aspect so hoping it will work out well!

Cheers,
