bruno22rf
Jesus-R33SY-I pay £160 for a pair of shotgun barrels-you can post the barrel no problems cos its not a functioning firearm-only a part. Ring Douglas Burton (ex Boss barrel maker) on 01296 655477 and ask him for a price-rub them down yourself to save time and money.
johnphilip
richardh should be about half that price

Gunman
There are those that black barrels and barrel blackers .I For instance I prep/polish off lift dents etc.. then put the actual blacking out to a trade blacker . I then polish out the bores clean of the back ends and muzzles dry out if necessary and check over before giving back to the customer . It is not economic for me to black myself or any one else unless you have the quantity each week to make it so . This is the way the trade works , many shops will just put the work out to either the likes of myself or to a trade blacker who will prep and black for them . That is not to say that names mentioned do not actually do there own blacking . On a historical note , the late Alf Floyd barrel browner in Birmingham as his father before him , blacked /browned up to 100 pair of barrels a week at their height , but never did any polishing as this was the job of a barrel smoother nor cleaning off after . RFD can collect it directly from you or you can use a registered firearms carrier to post it to him to do the work.
