aga man
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good cleaning solution for alloy wheels. Hoping to replace my tyres with some A/T this summer but could do to clean the wheels up a bit. Try as i may i cannot shift the old brake pad dust. Thanks in advance. aga man. PERCE
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Hope-****-Shifter-Bike-Cleaner_35613.htm?sku=84135188713&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=AdwordsProductAds&utm_campaign=Adwords&gclid=CjwKEAjwoZ-oBRCAjZqs96qCmzgSJADnWCv8wAdFE6tMhK6KiPl2_Wxds7421QBoxn45ntEcDdB5DBoCoP3w_wcB Used this for quite a while now. It's the only thing I've used that can make an off road motorcycle sparkle after a wash, truck wash etc is too aggressive & makes alloy dull. neil82
used to use patio cleaner, neat, and a brush, don`t leave it on too long as its very acidic
superspark
You can get a product called wonder wheels. You just brush it in on dry alloys, leave for a minute or two then simply rinse off with plenty of cold water. Will bring your wheels up like new and very shiny. Theres also another one made by comma for cleaning alloy wheels which you can buy from most motor factors. Only apply to dry wheels and do not allow to dry. Libertyandlivelihood
Check out the Autosmart products as they are widely used by the professionals, they have an acid free cleaner called 'smart wheels' or more serious acid based clesaners for lacquered wheels
Cosd
£10 for five litres from Halfords. I've been very impressed.
silver pigeon 3
We use the autosmart "smart wheels" at work and it is a great product. Better than most of the acid based cleaners.

steve_b_wales
There is also a product that you spray onto clean alloys, and leave it dry. It's supposed to create a barrier, and protect the wheels from brake dust etc. Not sure what it's called, or if it works.

superspark
After cleaning your wheels use a good quality polish, this will help seal them and help keep the grime and brake dust from sticking, clean regularly with a good car wash product, simples.
