Just an observation but I get the impression that a lot of people voted tory not because they wanted to but they wanted lab/snp less (rightly though) and now they are in there seems to be a muttered sigh of oh ####

I voted Tory because i like most of what they stand for.

I voted UKIP even though I knew there was about a snowballs chance in hell of them getting elected in true blue North Suffolk.

Seemed important to show the percentage of UKIP voters across the country.

PR would stop the need for all this tactical voting malarkey.

Must admit, though, that I am very relieved that we didn't end up with a Labour/SNP alliance.

Whatever anyone might think of UKIP, it changed the way that people vote. Before, it seemed a straight fight - Tories v Labour. Then tactical voting raised its head - more so than in any previous election I can remember.

Then Nicola Sturgeon sealed a Tory victory with her "Scotland needs a voice" drivel - as if others weren't entitled to any voice other than words pouring from her mouth.

I suspect things will never be the same. :):) :)

I beg to differ...the Conservatives sealed the victory with their handling and rejuvenation of an economy pulled out of the fire after the previous incumbents nearly bankrupted us.

I would have thought you Ukippers would have had a certain amount of empathy with the SNP and Sturgeon to be honest. Both parties are similar in many respects.. Farage wants to put England first and Sturgeon the same with Scotland.

I can see Cameron's government listening to sturgeon and her MPs but I cant see them taking any notice of her.. The Scots will be governed Democratically just like everyone else. After all she may have 50 odd seats but an awful lot of Scots didnt vote for the Krankie party.

Tactical voting as you say, may have actually presented UKIP with a large majority of its share.

I really don't think it will change the way people vote to be honest...all UKIP have done is replaced the Lib Dems as a voting alternative to disgruntled Conservative or Labour voters. We wont know obviously, until 2020 but I suspect unless Dave completely messes up in the next 5 years the vote share for UKIP will not increase significantly.

I voted UKIP because I agree with their manifesto and I believe they speak for me.

There's plenty of chickens to come home to roost yet, PFI and corporate tax for example, for Dave to be sure he'll get through the next five years.

He will and they will, just bask now in the opportunity YOU have to exploit immigrant labour , bask now in YOUR delight that the disadvantaged are about to be kicked even harder, and made to pay the consequences for the big lads greed and corruption, and bask now in YOUR I am all right jack mentality, you have enough to last the 5 year term.

Five years is a long time to wait to vote though....:whistling:

Who's 'waiting'? :) A lot can happen in 5 years, and when 'call me Dave' goes back on his 'in/out' referendum, UKIP will be there to reap the benefits. There's always an upside.

No chance of a reversal...Cameron has nailed his colours to the mast on a EU referendum and it will be delivered. Judging by the number of voters that swept the Tories to the recent Victory I fully expect the vote to leave will be a resounding NO.! Any way plenty of time to think about that...5 years in fact.

How can you be sure of that statement?have you ever stopped to think that people voted the torys in as they want a referendum and want to leave the eu?

Judging by the number of voters that swept the Tories to the recent Victory . As opposed to all those who were going to let Labour in by voting UKIP?

I fully expect the vote to leave will be a resounding NO.! I fully expect the Tories not to give us the chance, but like i said, time will tell.

Any way plenty of time to think about that...5 years in fact. :lol:Exactly, plenty of time....to either cover themselves in glory, or cover themselves in ****.

Labour usually cock it up for themselves by sheer incompetence eventually, while the tories usually cock it up for themselves by sheer arrogance, manifested as greed and sleaze. A lot to look forward to yet.

No just honest, something you wont understand. Make the most of it while you can.

KW

So let me get this straight you are accusing me of being dishonest, exploiting foreign labour and ridiculing the disadvantaged ........ :unhappy:

I would suggest you draw a line under this thread now rather than it degenerate into personal insult ( which is apparently the only way you can communicate effectively ) and to stop you from making yourself look like a even bigger imbecile than you obviously are.

Fisherman Mike - your choice of party won. Don't gloat, invent spurious reasons why they got in and don't misquote the polls.

A halfwit would know that the polls suggested a hung Parliament right up to the election. Exit polls suggested otherwise. I would say that is for the reason I stated.

As for your remarks to KW - the pair of you dish out stick and both take it. Don't be a patronising loser - just accept victory gracefully. I will post you a link for "gracefully" if needed. :whistling:

Lets look at some facts:-

Immigration issues even those relating to cheap employment, created by Labour

PFI:- Created by Labour

Corporation tax:- Labour did nothing to close loopholes and as i say every time, get the accountants to make the tax laws not MPs. Like it or not, what they do is not illegal.

Big lads greed and corruption? along with the part of the population that went silly with spending too? please include those that take or offer cash in hand..

Lets look at some facts:-

Immigration issues even those relating to cheap employment, created by Labour

And used to great effect by the cons and the employers.

PFI:- Created by Labour

Introduced in 1992 by John Major

Corporation tax:- Labour did nothing to close loopholes and as i say every time, get the accountants to make the tax laws not MPs. Like it or not, what they do is not illegal.

So does That make it right?

Big lads greed and corruption? along with the part of the population that went silly with spending too? please include those that take or offer cash in hand..

I always do K however that annoys the self employed lads, as the fact is that for every decent one their is another who plays the system.
