My partner couldnt leave the house for 6 weeks after giving birth.

Anyway I thought people on here didnt like the idea of benefit cheats breeding? :)

Prince William has signed a £40k a year contract, paying tax and NI contributions on his salary as an Air Ambulance pilot. His net earnings go to charity. He's hardly a benefit cheat.

Of course he receives money from the taxpayer, he's the future king.

We live in a monarchy, it's part of what defines us as a people, the pomp, the ceremony, our history and our traditions are often centered around the monarchy...it's what separates us from the yanks... and the French.

Interesting how you pick and choose which of these you sign on and off, our history is that of a diverse nation with the movement of people at its core, the Royal family are all recent immigrants yet your happy for a crowd Germans & Greeks to run the place

Who cares? I'm with the parasite comments. Very much operating at the shallow end of the gene pool. Every advantage under the sun and none of them ever managed to get any real qualifications. Thick as pig wotsit the lot of em. Just goes to show that interbreeding does not work! If you want to get really contentious then look at their family tree. Not enough branches!

and your contribution to society is what?

Parasite.

Tourism is (I think) the 3rd biggest industry in the UK, or at least it was not long ago - supporting millions of jobs. The Royal family bring in an estimated 500m in revenue attracting these tourists to historical sites and ceremonies ect. That covers even the highest republican estimates of the cost to the tax payer of keeping them. It's sad that the first post in response to this was "parasite", on a day that should be bringing the rest of the United KINGDOM together in celebration.
