Oxon T
I'm always really impressed with people who build their own stocks! Great work! I imagine you are very chuffed with how it's turning out?

mick miller
My mate used to make repro medieval furniture for churches and old buildings, film sets etc. Used to charge a fortune for it, he always maintained that he got into doing it because he was **** at being a decent joiner/ cabinet maker and could never manage to get anything to line up after he'd cut it. Anyhow, he would add 'the patina of years' in a few hours, whacking the wood with chains, rubbing in soot from the fire, generally kicking bits around the workshop until they 'looked right'. Personally, I think you should stick with what you're doing though, looks like a cracking job.

rabbit_stu
I've got a single cut tool, pm address and I'd be happy to send it up to you. May be better with one that has more than one cut for new chequering though. Either send it back when you're done or pass on to another who needs it
