JDog
The evening sun revealed that a French partridge had flown into the window recently. There was no body so I presume that all was well.

flynny
When I was courting my wife I used to stay at her mam and dads house( I slept on the floor obviously, cough ,cough) and it was a regular occurrence that a wood pigeon used to plant itself on her bedroom window , made a right bang and left a perfect imprint just like ur partridge has mate, her mam says it still happens every now and then even now, 20 years later, Bloody dumb birds lol Atb Flynny
aga man
You must have very clean windows JDog. Same thing happened at the house of a friend of mine a couple of years back. That time it was a Sparrowhawk which sadly got badly injured and had to be dispatched
ditchman
had that happen with an owl on my bedroom window...
Sha Bu Le
Happens here occasionally, usually woodies or collared doves but once a hen blackbird. Looked out to see if it was ok, no sign until I came up the back steps. There it was semi conscious in a hanging flower basket. Stayed there for 40 minutes then shook its head and flew off. team tractor
That's pretty cool and I'd have to not wash my windows
subsonicnat
We used to have a chaffinch do it every year on a side window. Perfect impression. Used to walk up and down the ledge looking in, fly off and come back and fly into the glass, the dog used to go mad.lol.
Underdog
That reminds me of a cock chaffinch attacking his own reflection in the window one spring.
WelshMike
I had a nice cock pheasant for dinner after it attempted to fly through a window which was shut where I used to work. I was surprised the window didnt break with the force it hit it. Snapped his neck perfectly. To be fair the amount of clips on youve been framed of people doing the same with patio doors maybe the birds arent as stupid (in comparison). dob
They fly into glass because from the ground or low point when u look at the glass there is a reflection of the sky and it confuses the poor little fellas and they think it's sky and don't realise its everest's finest and head straight for it then............crunch. pigeon controller
Brilliant JDog, a neighbour over the road from us had a wood pigeon do the same on her bedroom window, and being a bit arty she copied it with paint on the inside of the glass . The problem she has if she has a new window cleaner she has to tell them as they try wash it off from the outside??
