Doc Holliday
I've just placed an order with My Protein for my usual gumpf of powders and pills. As I have a stack load on work wise, I wanted to have a bit of shop around but only managed a look at Holland & Barrett's site plus a couple of forum sites. MP have 25% off today and they came in a few quid under H&B, not a massive amount bt enough to not bother jumping ship. It led me to wondering which of the PW collective use supplements and where they get them from. I didn't want to join another forum just to ask this as I know there are a few guys on here that workout and a few of those in a big way. I do CrossFit on a regular basis. Not because I'm looking to get big (as that won't achieve that), but it does get you in shape PDQ. Most folk who do it tend to take supps of one sort or another. I tend to stick to the same things of which one is Hemp Protein (Normally a 2.5kg pouch). I have it as a shake for second breakfast (between first breakfast and elevensies). It's not that bad, really. It reminds me of cold pea soup. Plus I have a couple of small scoops of Creatine monohydrate with it, which I get from H&B when it's on offer. I also use an all in one protein shake called Hurricane Extreme (5kg pouch). If you use regular milk to mix this with then you soon get the idea why they called it Hurricane Extreme. It has a good mix of BCAA's, carbs, fat, etc. & I also use lacto free milk for all my powders as I find it easier to digest and don't spend the rest of the evening farting my head off. Well, not as much anyway. I also order a couple of 1kg tubs of Cashew butter (one smooth and one crunchy) to snack on when I'm in the office. Lastly, I've gone back to ZMA to take at night. I had a multi vitamin for men but didn't really feel the benefit of it. I really felt the difference with the ZMA when I first started using it. So, my cyber Monday order came to £131.00 or there abouts, and I'll spend this about every 4 months. I realise I probably could get it cheaper elsewhere but just don't have the time to shop around online. I only just about managed to get the time to write this. Scully
My son reckons it's all cheaper from Amazon. I seem to get plenty of emails from them anyhow each time he makes a purchase of whey powder etc.

sako751sg
I do the weights and a bit of cardio for around 2-3 every day the now and get all my stuff from Discount Supplements online. Outstanding prices and once you order you usually get a discount code for your next order. They have just had a Black Friday special but they do sales every day really. The protein i order from them is Maximuscle shakes with 30g a bottle and also XL Nutrition flapjacks which are good value for money and the last lot was around £22 for 40. Delivery is usually within 3-4 days and free if over £30 i think. Regarding your ZMA.Outstanding if you get good stuff and can make for a way better sleep too.Think there are some poor kinds also that folk say are rubbish. sako751sg
Good to know, will tell No 1 son and see if he can save a few quid. I always get recommendations off a boxing forum where they have a dedicated lifting and training thread so always get advice regarding the quality and its all good stuff but your son maybe knows already. Can also mention ZMA to him in case he hasnt come across it already.Since taking quality of sleep is way better.
daz2202
I eat loads of bacon, sausage and egg sandwiches. £3.25 a go at the local wagon opposite my shop on the industrial estate. She has a 5star award for cleanliness. That's all the nutrients I need along with a hard days graft. Tbh. I wish I had the energy to to the gym after work. But I come home. Few jars and normally asleep in the chair within 15 minutes.

DannyS
I've been using MyProtein for a while now, Whey, Creatine and a few other bits. Can't knock them, products good and great delivery. Used Maxi Muscle in the past but found it too expensive. Friends use Optimum Nutrition, could be worth a look to see how they compare price wise as i understand their products are high quality. I try not to go too cheap on the supps as i've done it in the past and...well, doesn't sit too well with the gut, lets just say that lol Might get me some ZMA's then if you think its worth being added to the routine, cheers chaps. bobt
i can never understand the "my body is a temple" thing and then stuffing yourself with all this artficial ****.
BigEd85
I have been doing crossfit for 4 years now and have ended up adapting it somewhat. I use suppliments as part of my diet, used to use my protein but now use bulkpowders as I like their complete lean mass product. Gas pollution has significantly reduced since doing this. Recently had a tailored diet plan to strip down from 106kg (as I had dirty bulked to get to that weight). Managed to get down to 90kg in around 12 weeks. Slow progress putting on lean mass this time. Its taking ages! Just seen 20% on bulk powders, i best get ordering! ATB Ed

chappers1987
Bit off topic as such but if any of you lads are trying to lean down give intermittent fasting a go. Totally changed my life!
Wiggum
Bit off topic as such but if any of you lads are trying to lean down give intermittent fasting a go. Totally changed my life! Is that where two days a week you only consume 600 calories ?

chappers1987
Nah pal, that's the 5/2 diet. Intermittent fasting is where you fast for 16 hours (sleep included) and then consume all your calories in an 8 hour window. You wanna try and leave it 6ish hours before eating after you get up really as that's when it really starts to burn the fat off. It's Very very effective! Well for me personally anyway. Bob21
I regularly use MyProtien...only ever order Whey, Creatine, Glutamine and BCAAs (all as powders). The bars and cookies are great as snacks...but I've taken to making my own! As I'm sure other people have told you diet is key...I'll openly admit that I'm no expert in that I'm not a qualified PT or nutritionist (going to the gym is a daily hobby for me!), but I'd be more than happy to help and offload some of my knowledge if you want to DM me with what your goals are! That's interesting ? How quickly did you start to see results, I assume you need to eat sensibly as well and can't binge on kebabs for your two/three meals a day. Doc Holliday
I think for most folk who are in to their diet and exercise seriously, supplements are a natural progression. I don't think my body is a temple as some may think but it just can't handle the abuse I used to put it through. Plus I hated how I felt after a night on the booze. Not saying I don't touch it now as I do but I certainly feel the effects more keenly and seeing as I'm prone to certain destructive habits if left to my own devices then I try and do things that have a positve effect on my mental and physical well being. Yes, I watch what I eat and don't eat rubbish. Mainly have fresh veg and lean meat or fish most nights. I'd rather down a protein shake than a MacDonald's or an egg, bacon and sausage sandwich fro mthe local grease wagon. Again, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that but it's just not my thing. I pay for it if I go down that route and I'd rather not. I'm not looking to loose weight but I don't want to loose muscle either, which your body can do if you are training too hard for too long. With regard to better boners with the ZMA, that's probably down to the Zinc in them. Oysters are another good form of zinc, hence that's why they are known as aphrodisiac
chappers1987
Pretty rapidly mate. I spread all my calories out over two meals (roughly 1800/2000 calories). Generally things like chicken and sweet potatoes with a bit of veg. I'll stop eating at 10pm and won't eat again till 4pm. Black coffee or sparkling water helps blunt appetite cravings. Don't exceed 35 calories though.
chappers1987
Also don't be afraid of carbs and fats. There very very important! I usually consume 180/200 grams of protein. 200ish grams of carbs and 50/60 grams of fat in my window. This works for me but play around with it a bit and see what works best for ya. malkiserow
OMG, what are you folks messing with? I am so not clued up on this. Maybe I am missing something here, but, unless you are an Olympian or similar, why not just drink milk?
