Predictions for the future of shooting

Just a bit of fun,

What do you predict the future developments in our sport could be like? Or hope they will be.

Recent examples that led to change that I can think of are of when remote traps came along revolutionising clay shooting with what now seems like a simple idea, Guns on Pegs came along and opened shooting opportunities to the masses, which I think can only be a good thing in increasing participation numbers and of course PW formed to keep us all in touch!

They can be serious or jokey (3 on mine!) . These are my whimsical Sunday evening speculations on what could happen;

1. We invite a type of cartridge shot that you can see in flight, rather like a tracer round, on every ball bearing. This would increase clay shooting's spectator following as people would be able to see how close shots are to the target, increasing the excitement, and improve shooter's shooting by showing them whether they were in front/ behind ect in training.

2. I read in the field that the increase in Migrant workers (most of whom have close links with the countryside at home in their own countries) could lead to a rise in rough shooting participation, the rise in demand will increase the money shooting already generates for the economy.

3. We genetically modify chickens to fly like pheasants, due to the high demand for chicken, driven shooting will become far less expensive, and once and for all we can get the Anti's off our backs as the only concept of "free range" they understand seems to be in relation to chickens. I would still of course like to see good numbers of traditional pheasant shoots in operation.

4. I wonder if as the world becomes more globalised we will see a resurgence towards what people view as traditional englishness and see popularity for traditions like the hunt return. And of course, see the ban lifted.

I think in the near future Kent will spend a fortune developing a steel cartridge that will consistently cleanly kill at 40 yards or more .

( yes I know they already exist but he doesn't )

I will also predict that the last of mankind will have popped up on here to ask if its safe to use steel in his gun , he will of course get the same answer as everyone else which is yes and errr no :)

1) Night vision will be so good but then become unpopular as it won't be 'sporting' to have such a good chance on the quarry.

2) Shotguns will have some form of bleeper inbuilt to tell you when you have enough lead on the target so as when to pull trigger

3) airguns will become so silent that the H&S officials decide all airgun's need an artificial computer generated bang noise

6 months wait on new application 3months on renewals jump through hoops and prove good reason for firearms

Limit to amount of guns private individual can have without massive increase in security

Oops this is now 😂😂😂😂

Who knows what the future will bring

Although I doubt it will be easier or simpler

All the best

ISIS trained pigeons will start country wide terror attacks, leading to all pigeon shooters becoming national heroes.

Winner!

Someone at work who knows I shoot asked during the bird flu scare if it would be possible to line the coast with shooters to stop any coming in - I pointed out the way I shoot we'd all have bird flu by tea time and a few million extra birds
