popa bear
Does anyone know what's going on it seems only in the last few weeks the pigeons have finished the hawthorn berries off and now we have leaves on the hawthorn. We have blossom on the trees the gorse is in bloom and now finally the pigeons are starting to hit the rape in decent size flocks
oldypigeonpopper
i thought it was called the green house effect or maybe it is all those solar panels being put on lovely farm land and reflecting on to our trees and hedges. there must be 200 or more acres around here with them in about 5 sq miles

fenboy
Its no different any year , the pigeon get on rape in numbers once all the other available food sources are spent , how soon they are spent is down to mother nature , there are many things pigeon prefer to eat other than rape. pigeon controller
I shot three infant birds last week. Bees moving out of the hives yesterday, snowdrops out after the daffs. Wife was in the garden yesterday with the midges.

Jim Neal
Now and again during the last couple of weeks I've heard them cooing at each other. Never really noticed cooing until it starts getting noticeably warmer, march/april time. Have also seen a few with nesting material in their gobs!
