I found the superfast were very thumpy through my silver pigeon but through my lanber sporter they're fine.

Can't seem to find much info on the maxam's. If like you say they are more pleasant to shoot and £30 a 1000 cheaper, they must be work a go !

I've used a few thousand and they shoot very well with good breaks. Patterns can open a bit up at range. They kick more than Suoerfast as that has been my cartridge of choice for a few years now still have some.

Bought the Imperials due to cost and more grounds going fiber only. Apart from a few misshapen and one with no primer I can't fault them.

Been out today and shot 150, 1st impressions are they are a decent cartridge, they performed equally as good as the superfast on the close and mid range clays i did think that breaks on the high towers were not quite as good as the superfast but they still broke when i did my bit !, recoil i thought was less, slightly better than the superfast when a tried 4 maxam then 4 superfast only slight but noticable. All in all for £138 a 1000 you cant go wrong. I was using a lanber sporter with 1/2 & 3/4 chokes.

Cook your probably right but looking at them they are not fantastically made some are bent out of shape and the crimps on some are poor. Some others have a bit of the primer copper rim bent over the primer. So it pays to look at them before closing your gun and risk any possible damage.

I will post a picture later.

Still shoot well just need a little feeling first.

Halfway through 1000 of the new Kent cartridges. They are a series of Roman numerals that translates to 2016 ! I bought the plastic wad, but they are available in fibre at around the same price as the Imperial. I have shot them through my Beretta 303 auto without any misfires or misfeeds, they break clays very well and are very clean, no bits in the action. Just in case you are unable to source the Imperials.
