UK legal 'tactical' SxS/O-U

This quote & the one from Scully boil my pee as just because the gun is tactical & not the norm the op is branded a nutter or psycho. We all shoot & enjoy it so why look down at some one because of a gun they like the look of. We get enough of this from the non shooting public & the press with out it coming from within the shooting community. This is why we lost pistols & self loading cf rifles because some one did not like them, like us having them & with the EU looking to restrict us law abiding sportsman even more we should not be making comments as above as this will be our down fall.

Choice of words, not choice of gun.

God only knows where the nearest place for action shooting is from me.

Bet if theres somewhere it's at LEAST 100 miles away

I'd be up for something like that though.

That is probably not the case I'm not into western reenactment but lots of people are! I'm sure there is western society near by

Pity

Look on the NTSA website.

Shoots al over the UK & cheap membership fees.

Get joined & attend a shoot or two then get solid slug on your FAC

Nearest location for an NTSA even is 140 miles away.

Nearest range/club for western shooting I can find is about the same, if not more.

It's just ****

So did I. turns out theres nothing in east anglia.

Isle Targets just outside of Ely, Cambridgeshire do practical shotgun. My buddy got his FAC shotgun granted for there, as well as slugs, for that very purpose. I went along once, and it looked like great fun. I was only allowed to fire the slugs on the practice range, at a paper target. Not much more recoil than a 30g 6 load, to be honest.

Ah thanks for the heads up. Still, that's at around 70 miles away. Gonna cost a fortune to keep traveling that distance regularly, plus 3 hours travel time just to go do a bit of shooting...

The ranges/clubs in Norfolk need to get their act together :/

Absolutely nothing other than regular clay shooting and only have one half decent full bore range (100m).

It's pitiful.

It's hardly pitiful it's because most clay clubs would probably want to avoid a bunch of people dressed in combats with black guns practising rapid fire drills. I absolute respect the choice shooters should have but the reality is most clubs would probably avoid this discipline like the plague.

It's a shame I agree but then I miss my pistols as well.

That's the main part of the problem, people have this made up idea that any form of action shooting involves people in full camo and assault vests. Any IPSC ran competition specifically bans the wearing of camouflage/all black clothing unless you are serving military/police. Most people just shoot in the same type of clothes as you find at normal clay shoots (jeans/trousers and a polo top), but without the string vests. And I'm also a clay shooter and wear one of those string vests before anyone takes offence over nothing

I knew a chap that had a riot control sxs, had 17" barrels, used it for target practice with solid slug on his fac, kicked like a horse but bloody good fun .

'Fun' being the operative word

You weren't scared of it, wasn't anymore powerful of dangerous?

So why have we become soooooo afraid of anything different or might offend the general public?( even people on this very Forum seem worried about expressing their likes)

Personally I ******* hate bicycles and their users, but I'm not about to call for the Tour De France to be abolished.
