Got a call from the Son at 11 this morning, would i like to join him and his buddy in the hide. Yes 3 in a hide i know, but they had made the hide big enough and i trust their gun safety. Arriving at the Brocolli field i could see they were busy with 2 or 3 flight lines herding into to their set up. The boys had dead birds on cradles, 2 if not 3 flappers, and 3 magnets out. I didnt ask what time they started, but they had just reached 80. The next four and a half hours they had a steady stream of birds commiting which kept them busy. I myself only dropped 2 birds in five shots, i was just happy too be there watching 2 good pigeon shooters having a brilliant decoying day. Both the lads were having lots of left and rights and there was some cracking long going away shots. Mind you there were some easy misses followed by a torrant of abuse and much banter. I must also mention Jess her worked her little socks of on what seemed a non stop mission. Meg had been left at home due to a strained back leg. Well come 3 oclock large storm clouds were approaching from the West with lots of lightening, by 3.30 the boys decided to start breaking camp, by 4 oclock with large spots of rain coming down we were heading off the field. The total for the day was 161. Thanks to Stu, Chris and Jess for a very enjoyable outing.

You should have carried on. Jules and myself got caught in a storm today (probably the same one).

We went back to the trucks for nearly an hour and then carried on shooting.

Top bag still.
