Gordon R
well chickens are comimg home to roost all the indicators show were entering a down turn in the economy, welcome to the world of Brexit, we will now see the true cost, give it 18 months and the Brexit result will be scrapped In Troll World - one indicator means all indicators. MrM
The EU itself may be scrapped in 18 months with a bit of luck. It's only a matter of time before it all goes pear shaped in my opinion. If you look at reports from Italy you may not be far from the truth there - looks like they want to pump 200 billion Euros into their banking system in against EU wishes. You never know, there might not be anything left of the EU by the time we're due to leave. Edited July 22, 2016 by MrM
yod dropper
The absence of democracy may suit the Marxists here and on the continent but it's never been the British way. The sweet smell of freedom blows on the wind, and it's infectious. I sense the quaffing of some more celebratory champagne.

oowee
I'll bet you're a laugh a minute on a night out! The EU itself may be scrapped in 18 months with a bit of luck. It's only a matter of time before it all goes pear shaped in my opinion. I was trying to imagine how that might happen. It would seem credible for a Greek default and exit and from what I know of how the country operates could imagine them getting over it quickly. Its harder to imagine the larger Euro users being able to give up on the EU even if they wanted to. I suspect radical reform is more likely although the currency sharers would have to have some economic policy alignment. Its perhaps easier to imagine a two part new EU function with the currency sharers and the rest in a new type of alliance?

People across the EU are watching what happens here, and signs are that there could be another referendum in Europe befoe we get out......The Danes, the Dutch and the French all have political paries now opposed to the EU, something that was not around 10 years ago. The Italian banks are on the verge of collapse, as are the Portugese and Spanish banks (excepte Santander, who had the foresight to grab a share of the UK market) As for the Greeks, it,s not if they leave, it,s when! mick miller
Good lord, pinning the recent dip and potential 'recession' on Brexit is stretching the Project Fear a tad too far don't you think? The markets and economists have been predicting this dip for around 12 months. Still, the simpletons that believe the future lies in a Federalist state are simple enough to believe almost anything I guess. chrisjh
its looking less and less likely Brexit is actually going to happen, watch this space over the next 12 months Brexit light will slowly creep in, the EU dont want us to leave and the "grown ups" who actually run the country wont allow a group of "red necks" to rock the boat, we will see a gental amendment to the rules which will give us some control over immigration and sovereignty in exchange for the UK staying inside the economic union

As for those who voted to leave being described as "red necks". Coming from an intellectual pygmy, it is hard to tell whether you just write drivel or actually understand what you are writing. PS - next term - concentrate on spelling. Just some "gentle" advice.

yod dropper
It's looking less and less likely the EU is actually going to exist, watch this space over the next 12 months, the EU collapse will slowly creep in, the people in Europe don't want it and the voters who actually get to vote in their own countries (unlike in the EU) won't allow a group of autocrats to suppress them any longer, we will see a savage collapse which will give them control over immigration and sovereignty in exchange for well, nothing as the EU has nothing to offer. Gordon R
yod dropper - for a tiny moment, I thought you had been talking to the same city people that chrisjh gets his informed opinion from. I agree with your forecast. It could be that our Brexit is the catalyst that accelerates the demise of the EU. chrisjh
Chris, your spelling (mentioned by others) and your use of figures are equally poor. simple surely you can work it out "over the next 12 months" we will see a gradual move away and a watered down Brexit "by 2019" after the 2 year negotiation we will see a Brexit light (which will be a good thing) reduced migration and less governance by Brussels in exchange for trade agreements and we keep our financial sector . anyway more importantly are you going to pick up the bet or as I suspect hide behind your keyboard, come on man up you have been called out ............................
