evening all ,

well its been a while since i last posted a video , so thought ( i hope you enjoy this one from today )

over the past few months while its been quite on the pigeon side of things i have been busy clay shooting ( Trap shooting ) and generally getting myself Comp ready, and over those few months our dear Fenboy has been busy taking the **** out of me saying I couldn't hit a pigeon unless it was painted Orange haha ,

well yesterday afternoon I got a call from one of my land owner mates asking me to shoot over his laid barley today , now this is something I normally hate as it just a nightmare trying to retrieve the fallen birds , so after 20 mins of him going on , I said I would pop up and have a look to see if it was as bad as he was making out , well I got there about 6pm yesterday eve and shot 36 and a crow for about 2 hrs , and yes you could see they have been hammering it , so I got on the phone and said I would have the day ( today ) on the field as long as he goes after work with his two cockers to pick the birds I missed , " yep that's sound , no problem "

so as promised I got there this morning around 9am and went for it , it was not long before things started to liven up .by around midday I had around the hundred mark in the bag , I carried on till around 2.45-3 pm and ended up with 147 in the bag , I picked up half of them , and at 9pm this evening I got a text off my mate saying he picked another 60 odd with his two cockers , and then the heavens opened up and him and the dogs were lathered in mud haha he's not happy .

anyway here is a bit of footage ( please ignore some of the comments by me , its just me having a dig at Fenboy haha )

magnet was out about 25-30 yrds, and ALL the carts used where clay shells ( odds and **** from the past few months ) all 7.5s and 8s in 28 gram

gun was a Beretta 692 X trap Hi-rib

enjoy

Well mate after watching that I have concluded most of those shots were just lucky :whistling:

Seriously some great shooting Stevo and a cracking video , I like the commentary and I think me having a mention in your video is the only time I am going to be near a ton bag anytime soon

I still think that is one ugly gun ---------but I still want a go with it

Will watch the video tomorrow. Shame on you for killing pigeons with clay shells.

they all killed fine , I did have tight chokes I know but all worked well apart from the Pro one DTL300 , they where very poor , you can clearly see difference in the first part of morning , I was putting them in the bottom barrel ( 3/4 choke ) and I was still having to give them a second barrel with something a bit more punchy, I didn't even like them on clays , hense why the remains of the box , aroud 15-20 got thrown into the odds and 5ods bag .

Excellent video stevo , nice to see straight barrels , unlike fenboy who look like he is using curved barrels on his videos

Think what you could have got if you could had hit them  , the only bit I found it hard to get used to was your posh language you boys use up North.

Well done stevo , I really enjoyed it and your shooting is first class . Thanks for sharing.

Great video and well edited also , it was a regular massacre. One thing though, I would never bring my Trap gun into a hide.......couldn't bear to have it marked.

Thank you all for the kind words.

It's not something I would make a habit of that's for sure. But I just wanted to try it. Call it an itch that needed scratching haha

Well shot. I hope you didn't think I was having a go about the cartridges. I use 'clay' cartridges on pigeons most of the time. I was even killing some with 9s today.

Haha no motty. I've been using clay loads on and off for ages mate. Not for cost. I find they just perform better. Most of the loads I use are more expensive than pigeon/ game loads.

If we all do our bit they do the job just fine.
