I want a Beretta A300 Xtrema!

I can admit I made a mistake. Having owned a semi previously, I was sure I didn't want another, so bought a lovely Miroku MK70 for duck shooting. The gun is great, but poorly suited to the style of shooting that I've ended up doing. I have my heart set on a Beretta A300 Xtrema. It turns out there are only a few new ones left in the country, so feel a little urgency and have a strong urge to start flexing the credit card again. Someone talk me out of it please!!!

Myself and muncher were both owners. And while I can't quite remember the problems he had. Mine one was great to start with then after a few months. Problem after problem. I can remember in the first week it had to go back to GMK because of inclusions in the metal at front of barrel just behind the choke flaring. If you want a decent gas powered semi. I would

go for a beretta ulrika 2. A lot less money and much much better build

Just my opinion

Good, keep it coming before my wife leaves me and I declare myself bankrupt! It's interesting, I've read nothing but positive reviews about this model. Good to hear some real world experiences. Only downside with the A400 is the extra cost :(

It's a shame because I've always thought you can't go wrong with a Beretta.

Does anyone actually make a reliable semi-auto that doesn't cost a fortune?

Berreta al391 urika had mine a year bought it second hand for £585

Not a single problem

Put 21g clays through not a problem and although doesn't stake it's steel proof put 36g 1 thorough for ducks and geese and still no problem and it came with 5 chokes excellent value and I'm sure all you'll hear is good reviews put one thing I would say is maybe get a synethic stock as I have wood looks lovely but when out wildfowling will get bit dirty but other than that excellent gun and very cheap

Not a beretta but why not go for a maxus? I've had mine a while now and I can't fault it. Paid £700 for it second hand and it's 3 years old now and it never misses a beat. I've never had a beretta s/a so can't compare but all I can say is I will never sell my maxus

As also said the 300 outlander is good, Do you need an Extrema? 3" should be enough?

:shaun:

Probably. I assumed the Outlander was a similar gun to the Xtrema (both being A300s), so assumed it was another to avoid.

That's what I had in the UK :(

I would go maxus out of them lot.

Saying that I have 2 semis neither any of the above mentioned...down at the bottom, way below the snobbery.

The first has fired thousands cartridges in all conditions in various rugged salty muddy dusty places and never faltered..i bought the newer version of said gun and its doing just perfect for me, fires any and every cartridge I will ever need to use and like ANY gun it puts the pellets where I point it (not often in the right place)

Genuinely for price, reliability, build and strength especially for your type of shooting the Winchester SX3 is superb! If you can find the grey composite model I'd get that because it's got the 'ultra tough' coating on and it really is tough...! Although I think they've replaced the grey one with the black shadow now so can't comment on that🤔

I'd also look at the Maxus too :)

Lots starting with the cheapest first.

Hatsan Escort Extreme newer model extended rem choke tubes finish is great they work faultless, 295 over here.

Baikal MP153 i have had one over ten years its simply superb. in everyway, not had a single jam with it ever.

Bit more money but still cheaper than your A300 is the Briliant winchester SX3 get a .675 terror choke in that or a kicks high flyer and you are home and dry fantastic guns. dont own one never have but many i know do they are superb wildfowling semis.

Breda grizzly a SBE at a third discount identical guns just different badge 612 quid mine was new 2 years ago its reliable and well made but SBEs are not everyones cup of tea but i like them.

Last but far from the least the REMINGTON versamax in both waterfowl of sportsman the cheaper more basic version now available here i am told, is awesome Gun city have them in in NZ at good money i just looked.

the versamax is the most inovative reliable gas system i have ever seem, a mate has one he is a gorila never looks after anything he has abused his waterfowl versamax for two years now and its still working great, i dont think he as cleaned it yet, its recoil is soft its hefty well ballanced and cycles anything and i mean anything he puts through it.

If none of the aqbove tick your boxes for whatever reason. A better option than the A300 is the Benelli Vinchi, These are not super cheap but cheap for a benelli, and handle superb i have never shot any semi auto that feels as good as a vinci EVER> the Remington 1100 range which just feels right to me everytime, is no way as nice as the vinci.

Anybody who as never shot a vinchi needs to they are that good. i so want one.

I love my Remington 1187, old school, keep it clean, just a touch of engine oil, check gas seal each clean and change if not 100%, cycles reliably down to 21g, don't need anything else. Have wood furniture for clay days and synthetic for out in the rough stuff
