Chris Bb
What, if anything, do PW'ers put on their wellies to preserve them? I've read that silicone spray can be useful.
wisdom
I've treated my waders with some.just sprayed it on and rubbed it all over. Kept them supple and shiny.Don't think it will do them any long lasting damage.I was suprised how clean they came up and the muck that came off on the cloth. mudpatten
Another vote for cheap car interior silicone spray. It really does help to prevent the rubber from perishing. I`ve used it on rubber thigh and wellington boots for many years and thoroughly recommend it.

TIGHTCHOKE
Renapur - bought last year at shooting show, its top notch stuff I thought that was for leather. Silicone spray is what the manufacturers will sell you in their can at a vastly inflated price, get it of the Bay - same stuff - different tin! WinchesterDave
I thought that was for leather. Yes you are right - the bloke selling it said it's as good for 'proper' wellies, however. I've used it a lot and it's great Silicone spray is what the manufacturers will sell you in their can at a vastly inflated price, get it of the Bay - same stuff - different tin! Chris Bb
Thanks, guys. I've just used some Auto Glym tyre treatment which claims to shine and protect car tyres. I figure if it's good for tyres it should be OK for boots. I also have a tin of cheap dash shiner which I may try next time. Yes, the bot manufacturer's offerings are on the eye watering side of silly!
Vince Green
I just put two empty plastic drinks bottles in them to keep them standing upright. Otherwise, where they fold over they crack
oowee
Mine never last long enough to preserve Need some more now after wet feet today. That's two pairs this year.
steve_b_wales
After initial cleaning, mine are kept in a welly bag. I put old towels inside them to keep them firm.
CharlieT
I just wish the soles would outlast the uppers. But I guess I should keep them in a bag instead of wearing them.
