A love my sx3 had it exactly a year now been great had about 3000 cartridges through it but jammed solid new years eve the bolt has come half way back and just jammed solid looks like it's tried to extract the spent cartridge looks I looked inside with a pen light looks like sum things brocken off trigger unit bit it's going back to shop Saturday and being sent to winchester under warranty a was shocked more than anything when I saw what had happened as the gun has been faultless and never been cartridge fussy

Funny you should say that, mine did the exact same thing.

When it was at the dealers the trigger assy was taken out and a pin approx 4mm in dia fell out in two bits.

Even with the assy out you could still not move anything, solid to say the least.

Came back a week later from Winchester with nothing stating what the problem was/had been.

Was not impressed by the amount of metal filings in the bolt/trigger assy and had to drop it all apart for a proper clean and lube, not something I would have expected to have to do after a warranty claim.

What carts?? Mine wouldn't cycle compX 28gram everything else fine

CompX are cac, my opinion, I know lots like them.

my SX3 has cycled 21grm CompX, but I wouldn't rely on it to do that.

I've got an SX3.. it sometimes jams with 28g clay loads and I miss having a magazine cut-off from previous semi autos. It is kept clean. Any tips on stopping the jams would be helpful. I was going to check how straight the rat-tail at the back of the breech block is, and take off the stock to clean & lube the spring tube which is at the back of the action. It has a the grey action & synthetic stock. My son shoots it very well.

The only jam I had was due to gunk build up on the bolt rails at back of the action. Always check this now, takes 2 secs. Use a quality shell, usually anything 28grm, 2 3/4 inch and up will be fine, except CompX or anything less than 2 3/4inch. I've never had a problem cycling them though tbh, but they are 65mm which the gun is not rated for ( mine 3.5" model)

edit - to add that the only jam I had was while using 3.5" 66grm BB at geese!

This is indeed the 3.5 inch model. I think you have hit the nail on the head.I have kept the rails clean with a toothbrush. I will have to switch to 70mm cartridges for clays when this lot are finished. Thank you !

Done it,

Just got s/h SX3 3.5" chambered M/C 12G SILVER /GREY ACTiON AND BARREL WITH COMPOSITE STOCK.

Can't wait to get out at weekend as i am a s/a virgin. :good:

Apparently the grey shadow has the best coating of the lot. Great guns just don't quite fit me and I don't like the very small slim stock and butt. The action is easy to clean and very soft shooting. You will enjoy it.

For anyone waiting on the SX4 why not get a deal on a Browning Maxus same basic action with Mag cut off etc.

The problem cycling can usually be fixed b living the recoil spring in the stock through the back of the action they are known to corrode a bit. Also lube the slide rails and all should be fine.

Stripped my Benelli M2 today for a deep clean and re lube, I do not miss the gas operated guns at all.

Never get this, how much more is there?? a spacer, a spring, a piston and a couple of small holes in the barrel. Hardly an enormous increase in the cleaning regime.

Glad you like the recoil gun, I had a hankering to try one but the 'click' totally put me off. And tbh, the SX3 does everything I need.

It's not the difference in parts to clean it's how clean it stays and how quick it is to clean. I had a Beretta A300 xtrema that's fitted with some elasticated scraper washer supposed to keep itself clean,it didn't. The Wildfowling steel carts I find leave lots of powder residue so guns get dirt a lot quicker.

I'm interested in one of these if they come out at the right money, I likely my sx3 except for the trigger guard being to small for a gloved hand and the old style loading port which was upgraded on the maxus and seems to be on the new sx4.

3.5" black synthetic 28" barrel for me please when they arrive in the UK!

Anyone know when
