R6demon
Hi Guys, Following a gun fitting at the weekend its become apparent that I need a taller comb on the Lanber that we have. Any recommendations on comb raisers? Im able to see the full rib so I'm dropping my head to one side and raising the gun in the shoulder to compensate :( Im getting a blinking sore cheek as well!! HDAV
Isis do a stick on ones that don't thicken the stock like others http://www.recoilsystems.com/combraiser.php
Gordon R
If you are able to see the full rib, it would suggest the comb is too high already.
Vince Green
Play about with layers of cardboard one on top of the other, held in place with masking tape until you are absolutely sure you know what thickness you want before you commit to anything. I thought that too, as a tall person with a long neck I often find there is insufficient drop on stocks for me
sishyplops
I'm the same so just bought a high rib, now find comb a little to low so need a raiser, Gordon is correct if your seeing to much rib the comb is too high already, make up a makeshift high rib and try it, I like to shoot flat i.e. Straight down the rib, but always got beaten up in the cheek, tried the high rib and still shoot flat albeit 20mm lower which equals sod all at 35yds it's not like looking down on a rib where the point of aim is different to the point of impact which is what you have " trap gun stylie "
fat_jay
Instead of raising the comb, why not simply pack your cheek with bread or a gobstopper. You are welcome......".

I've shot a gun with a cough sweet in my cheek, forgot about putting in my cheek when talking after a few minutes walking onto the sportrap layout, bloody hurts. Much to friends amusement. Mr.C
Alternatively you coud just shoot it. If youre seeing alot of rib it'll just be like using a trap gun for sporting and you wouldn't be the 1st to do that. Just be a matter of learning the sight picture. Says the man who bought a high rib gun coz he didnt like seeing so much rib. Edited January 17, 2017 by Mr.C
Wingman
Tried one of the recoilsystems one on my Winchester and apart from hating the way it looked it works well. Having said that I have now put a rubber comb raiser inside a beartooth neoprene sleeve thing on my Perazzi and I prefer it, not only is it temporary and can be removed anytime I seem to shoot better with it as it feels more comfortable. Having said that I am still in the honeymoon period with my Perazzi so thats probably got something to do with it. Been thinking about one of the Beretta sticky gel pad things as well they look pretty good. Edited January 17, 2017 by Wingman
ips
The gel ones are useless, they will lose you 1/4" of cast due to thickness.

ips
Your welcome As HDAV says the recoil systems available in three heights are by far the best, being tapered at the sides have no effect to cast. But I do agree with you that they don't look brilliant. Edited January 17, 2017 by ips
HDAV
If you want it to look nice get the comb made adjustable £2-
R6demon
Gents, Just a quick update. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Bakerboy AKA Clay coach Terry http://www.claycoachterry.co.uk/ who took the time to do a proper gun fitting for my wife and I today. Terry undid all of the mis information that we had be given in a very methodical way ( my wife had been told that she was completely Left Eye Dominant and to close it, she is just slight Left eye) and reset our stance which was completely wrong (now the feet are set to 12 and 2 o'clock as opposed to standing side on) The Comb issue was mainly due to an incorrect mounting technique although a number 2 riser from Steve Pountain made things more comfortable so we have ordered one. I will also be ensuring that both my wife and I book a lesson at the first available date. THANK YOU TERRY!!
