propercartridges
hello all just been doing my paper work and to inform you since july last year i bought lead shot till going in for some more now its nearly touching £580 per ton up now on a 32 gram load dividing 1000 by 32 is 31250 loads then divide the loads by the £580 increase makes £18.56 pence plus vat to load a thousand carts thats on the lead alone and at cost cheers george
sitsinhedges
I'm confused. Are you saying that new lead shot is costing you £580 for 1 metric ton? 58p per kilo???
deershooter
Don't understand George you are a manufacturer you should be cheaper than the local gunshop, but on standard clay loads your £30 adrift you should be £20 cheaper than the shops
wymberley
Would seem that the shot production costs have gone up as well. There was a big - c15% - rise in the price of lead in July. Taking that revised price as a datum, since then it's gone up another c26.7% or c£373. Jun 2016 1,206.27 2.58 % Jul 2016 1,395.28 15.67 % Aug 2016 1,399.57 0.31 % Sep 2016 1,482.36 5.92 % Oct 2016 1,640.59 10.67 % Nov 2016 1,754.00 6.91 % Dec 2016 1,768.13 0.81 % Edit: Difficult to read, but he's saying it's gone up by £580 Edited January 23, 2017 by wymberley
deershooter
Don't know where your figures come from but I make it £201 increase not £580 Edited January 23, 2017 by deershooter
deershooter
When I used to buy shot by the ton from Gamebore I payed £880 per ton delivered and the scrap price was £410 per ton so roughly twice the scrap price for shot . With the scrap price now at £840 per ton it should be less than £1800 per ton
wymberley
Depends on the starting point. If you make it June, then George's figure is pretty much spot on.
deershooter
In that case lead was so cheap in June cartridge prices should have been cheaper
wymberley
In that case lead was so cheap in June cartridge prices should have been cheaper Apart from the odd blip, prices started to fall at the beginning of 2013 and did so until 2015 since when - again the odd blip - they've been steadily rising. rbrowning2
In that case lead was so cheap in June cartridge prices should have been cheaper They were cheap eley imperial £135 per 1000 try buying any 28gm clay cartridge for that today. Lead up pound down it could be some time before we see prices falling again.

wymberley
See Hull have changed their web-site. They've also changed there shot size dimensions. Wonder if they've also changed their supplier in view of possible price changes.

Dougy
That why there's no prices on ha web page now....was looking at buying some shot and powders from you but ya prices have gone The web sites that offer items for sale but do not show prices just get the one visit from me. I have no time for them. I cannot see the point in advertising items without showing the price, its not legal on the street so why is it allowed on the www... ( I don't need an answer it wont change things) Edited January 24, 2017 by Dougy

figgy
More people will cut back on how much they shoot. It shows how much people want to spend on cartridges when a dealer has an offer on cheap carts and they fly out the door.
