redial
Looking for a recomendation please. Not only that but what do you use to fill it. In my case it would have to be out of a tin. Thank you.
bruno22rf
Not sure if we are on the same wavelength but I have a Coleman SS Flask that I fill with boiling water, leave for 5 minutes then empty and stand for about another minute for the steam to clear then put freshly cooked sausages in and Hey-Presto - 2 hours later still piping hot. moor man
Top tips; 1) preheat with boiling water for a couple of minutes. 2) wrap the full flask in a spare jumper, will stay hot all day then. 3) stew, chili, thick soup, 'breakfast in a tin' take your pick. oldypigeonpopper
hello, i use a thermos food flask, with a small slow cooker, i make a beef stew cutting the meat a bit smaller, add mixed veg with oxo cube (i use frozen veg thats thawed), use boiled water add meat/veg swirl round and cook over night say 8 pm to 8 am or if your going out early 6pm to 6 am , in the morning put some boiled water in flask as bruno mentioned, empty out and fill with hot stew, mine keeps hot for 6 hours, hello, i use a 2 person slow cooker you can buy for a tenner, if you want it piping hot after you switch off, ladel out stew only into flask, ladel out beef stock to a jug and microwave till boiling then ad to flask, will keep hotter longer than just from cooker
Aled
Well I bought my daughter a Heinz food flask from Argos for £7.99 to carry spaghetti or vegetable rice for her school lunch...of course she was chuffed to begin with, lost interest now. Its good for around 6-8hrs, handy for curry and rice, Cawl (Welsh Lamb stew), soups, and casseroles (crusty bread roll and plus piece of cheese a must!) Cheers Aled

johnnytheboy
I gave up with food flasks and found it easier to take a pocket rocket stove and just heat it there
