walt1980
Had my first one yesterday, warm and sunny, lovely day but shooting was rubbish! Birds didnt want to fly, no tails and all the size of partridges! The new batch of bullis and Damson gin nearly made up for a bad day. Hopefully yours will be better, Ill be waiting until November next year before I start unless its a lot colder!
JDog
Good luck. Your reputation will be judged on what you don't shoot rather than what you do if the birds are immature.

ste eibar
Yes it's my first ever day! Been looking forward to it for weeks, keep checking my kit list!! I'm a bit nervous hope I can actually hit something I remember my first day, got 2 pheasants and 1 partridge. Your shooting will come good when the bird's start coming over. Just remember to be safe and you'll enjoy your day.

filzee
Well great day. One drive the birds were a bit low so didn't really get bothered but selective shooting and some amazing fliers we ended with 62 pheasant in the bag. Great day so roll on two weeks
WinchesterDave
29 in the bag for our small shoot today. A lot of low birds currently but was a great day out nontheless!
kyska
Low birds, returning rather than flying. 12 partridge, 42 pheasant.
ste eibar
Our boundry day was a total washout. We gave it a couple of hours going through an old plantation, put a few snipe up but the few pheasants we put up were to young so we packed up soaking wet with 1 pheasant and 1snipe. We are shooting some of the drives on the 28th it'll be another day of selective shooting.
Penelope
First day on Friday. A boundary day and more of a walk up, although we will do a couple of outside drives. Not many guns coming, either, 7 guns (out of 16 - walk one stand one) and two beaters. Weather looks promising. Our first proper day is on Saturday, 28th. A bit nervous as I am shoot Captain this year.
shalfordninja33
Our first day is tomorrow. Pheasants are a bit young still, but we put a lot more partridges down this year so were starting a couple of weeks earlier then we usually do. I'll be asking the guns to be very selective on the pheasants.
