oldypigeonpopper
hello, i have my single 12 and AL 48 auto in socks within the cabinet, £5 off ebay, most to stop cabinet knocks, but ideal to keep in motor if you do not need the expense of a proper gun bag, in this cold weather it helps to stop steel sweat if thats the right word, i do have a branded but not much difference to the fiver jobbies
Pigeon Shredder.
As said before tube grip off the bay, 10mt lengths for not a lot, or the £1 shop do the same, elbow, knee socks for yes £1. Cut to size and do the same job of protecting the woodwork from cabinet bumps.
TIGHTCHOKE
I normally buy 10 at a time off the bay of evil or Amazon, that way they are stitched at one end and properly finished for about £3:50 each.
Walker570
I had some sort of green towelling material lying about and cut out a mirror image rifle shape and then folded it and ran the sewing machine up it. Nice thickish soft material. I then sprayed the whole thing with furniture wax and occasionally give them a top up. As said above ideal if I just have to drive a couple of miles to visit a farm. The wax stops any damp getting in the material and keeps the rifle out of sight. PLUS it doesn't look like a rifle case.
ehb102
Very useful at preventing cabinet dings. I have different colours so I know which gun I am picking up.
redial
Are there any which help prevent corrosion rather than knocks and dings.
bruno22rf
I think most of them are Silicone impregnated are they not? I buy the cheapies and keep a sachet of VP90 in the cabinet - never had an issue with corrosion.
jasper682
Browning do some with the corrosion prevention. I have my dt11 in them ? Jasper.
billytheghillie
I use Remington ones from the bay, they are silicon impregnated, 2 for £15.
jasper682
Does the silicon not dry the wood out ??
Jaymo
Are you not thinking of Silca moisture absorbing crystals ? Whereas this is a form of oil lubricant if I’m not having too much of a ‘daft day’ 18 hours ago, jasper682 said: Does the silicon not dry the wood out ??
