Ah, but when you are on a pension, you use what fits, and what you can scrounge.

You should see the number of thread types on my bike - I ain't proud

I do "Celebrate Diversity" when it comes to threads. UNF, UNC, Whitworth, BSC, BA, etc. Just don't use those european ones if I can avoid it.Just doesn't seem right on British iron and machinery.

Belts (new) arrived this morning by a courier wearing shorts.....

fitted to machine and run it...............runs millimetre perfict and i left it with touching it for 15mins...........so my next job is to centrilise the belt and the pulleys (as much as i can.....)......as the linisher when it was milled off is on the "her"  and about 6mm off square.....so when i have it running in a good position i will mark out that area using a centre punch ...drill the raiser bed holes and see if it all works...then i can get on with the cutting table.............

pics will explain it all better when i get a round tuit............

I think most of England and a fair bit of Scotland could produce pictures just like those.

Not here we can’t. No sign of any really bad weather, it’s a bit nippy at the -1 Mark, and currently a slight flurry of snow in the wind. But non on the ground. Not even white over with frost!

I see the local authority have been out and about in your area ditchy.....NOT!!!

We have a sprinkling and even my wife who hates the stuff made it to the local village this morning in her little Skoda to pick the paper up.I remember '47 when the milk wagon could not get through for a week and my grandfather set the churns deep in the snow which was well above my head in our yard and it was collected in perfect condition, then again in the mid 50s, then again as you said '63, then again '91 when we set off on the Saturday morning to the shoot in Hereford(90 miles) and would have got there had the M42/M5 not been blocked by vehicles.

I was driving a Volvo 740 Estate, rear wheel drive only at the time.  Turned around and called at a friends in Redditch and then drove home, squeezing past a whole 'car park' of cars and lorries where the NEC had put out on the radio that they would open halls for people to take refuge. Drove all the way back and was finally stopped by a 6ft drift across the lane, 1/2 mile from my home. Walked in with two gun cases and two dogs plus wife to find all electric power had been cut off. Lit the big log burner and cooked a full three course meal on top of it.

Invited villagers over the next six days to a hot meal. A crew from Cornwall came up and restored the power as all the double poles had gone down for about a mile.

This is in our wood and the lane leading to the village. Almost just a haw frost.  It is bitter cold in the wind though worse tomorrow, wind that is  40-45mph in the Midlands ...18-20mph

South Lincs. Localised snow showers.  Went to the chip shop at 5.30pm tonight and coming back it was clear, then a white out for 400yrds then clear again.
