I had a terrible diet when in my teens ( according to general consensus ) but now that consensus has changed it turns out it wasn’t bad at all.

I do however, have a much more balanced diet nowadays and have always enjoyed cooking.

My OH is a very good cook and we eat a LOT of roast veg’, which I adore now but wouldn’t have touched when younger.

I love cooking for my kids but rarely get the chance nowadays, and my favourite for them was chicken breasts stuffed with Philadelphia chees, wrapped in bacon, surrounded by peppers, onions and parsnips. All roasted together in the same tin. LISH! Another favourite meal to cook is corned beef hash from a recipe by Valentine Warner; it is simply terrific.

What I used to love and most definitely shouldn’t was those Turkey drummers from Bernard Matthews! I doubt if they ever went anywhere near a Turkey apart from a passing phase with a MRM machine, but they were full of the most horrific but delightfully tasting fats etc! ? Haven’t had one for donkies years.

I don’t mind the odd Pot Noodle when feeling lazy, which horrifies my OH!

Fish finger sandwiches with lots of butter on the bread and salad cream on the fish fingers.

Now you’re talking. ?

Aldi's Strachan honeycomb ice cream with their cranberry and white chocolate cookies crumbled into it.:good: Far too many calories but lush.

One that is served on can't be bothered to cook days is Slogg, which is a can of baked beans, a can of stewing steak and a can of potatoes with half the water drained out all mixed together in a saucepan, heated thouroughly and served. Good one for camping too.

We can both cook very well though and do lots of healthy eating too, but our version of healthy eating is not everybodies. :)

Oh Lads i thought my diet was terrible far too much sausage and egg but you guys make me look like a healthy eater

Spaghetti hoops on toast? too much sausage and egg? Please. you're practically a vegan you're so healthy.

Get some scraped, peeled, reconstituted meat that's over-sozzled with garlic mayo and chillies down you! That's how you really destroy a heart.

Now i love tinned spaghetti on toast with poach eggs on top, when the yolk mixes with the tomato sauce its special.  Had it usually around once a week as a child.

Another favorite is cheese on toast with a tin of beans over the lot. Both my children like this too.

Sorry, but that’s just wrong! ?

I specialise in cooking poached eggs and to mix them with anything but toast and butter ( unless it’s on top of cheese on toast !)  is criminal! ?

My Dad used to make me what he called ‘cheese dreams’ when I was a kid. It’s basically just a cheese sandwich....fried. You can feel your arteries panicking just looking at it but it is divine. Also, you need a frying pan which has generations of fried eggs and bacon fat in it....don’t ever clean it. ??

This thread is making me hungry.

A second vote for doner kebab. It’s a very rare thing for me these days as I’m rarely out on the town but when I am a doner, plain, no salad, covered in garlic mayo is the perfect end of the night snack!
