Did you ever meet him ?

A friend of mine claimed he did and said he was only about 5ft-7inches tall.

Did a job over at brize norton airbase a few years back when they had a load of SAS types knocking around the canteen.....they were very non descript and not at all movie like material.....still wouldn't mess with them mind

I used to be in Brize alot when I was a youngster in the Civil Service, I remember once going over to the hangers where they had a mock up of an aircraft and I watched for hours as the SAS raided the plane. Good group of chaps, all shapes and sizes, you'd have never guessed they were SAS

Any idea how much a signed copy of Bravo two zero would be worth?

(I have one :good: )

G.M.

I'm still waiting for soldier 5 to be published ...........The TRUE account of what happened and written by the Kiwi on this mission who was shot in the foot .............If you read Chris ryans version (The one that got away )it completely contradicts Andy Mcnabs account of events so the fact that the ministry of defence successfully aquired a injunction against publication gives this book some credence .

I think Mike(Kiwi) managed to get his accounts published in other countries though but not in the commonwealth :good:

Now don't I feel an idiot ............ I think this is the one :good::rolleyes:

I think that is the general idea, to blend in a bit. It's scarey to think that people can be that fit and "dangerous".

I have all three books: Andy McNab, Chris Ryan and Michael Asher. And I can tell you the true name of Andy McNab if you so wish. I also have it on extremely good authority (Not that My mates sister's boyfriends cousin twice removed uncles mate at work rubbish either), that ***** M******* is a pathalogical liar and is not welcomed by any of the Former or current SAS mob on any account.

The Sargent in Asher's book is quoted as saying to my source that in the debrief none of what is written in either McNab's or Ryan's book is accurate and that none of the so called heroics that they supposedly went through occurred. The only true thing we do know is that Mcnab was captured and that Ryan escaped.

I have almost the complete collection of SAS books going from the start when it was a commando/reconassaince unit utilising the LRDG (Long range desert group) to carryout their raids based on Lawerence of Arabia's exploits in the desert, right the way through to modern day and have scoured many of the books out at the time relating to the Bravo two Zero story to find out if there are any discrepancies, and would you believe it there are loads.

I am trying to get hold of Soldier five so if anybody knows where there is one for sale please let me know. In Asher's book he tells of the court case that ensued following his (Mark the Kiwi's) attempted publication, it also states I believe that he was successful in getting it into print although not in the UK (Commonwealth was ok).

The source of the above comments is known to at least three members on here, all of whom have met and spoken to the person inquestion in the last two weeks. He himself is ex forces (ret). No more clues.

What's his name then SS?

I met "Andy McNab" at a publishing event some years ago - somewhat embarrassingly I won the raffle and had to collect my prize from him :good: , a signed framed photo of Mr McNab and Sean Bean on the set of some film

Probably worth a small fortune now - not.

For what its worth my gf at the time reckoned he was "bloody gorgeous."

I just thought he was a short ****.

That Michael Asher book is good, got it here.

From memory he wasn't on the original mission though. Don't think he is the Kiwi on the original Bravo-Two-Zero team.

Is Asher his real surname then because the author is Mike Coburn and what ever title the book is there is one written by the Kiwi on the mission who was shot in the foot .

Post will self-destruct in 10 seconds :good:
