novice cushie shooter
Does anyone have either of the above willing to share their views or thoughts. Torn between them and cant decide.
GingerCat
Nope. I got a westfire series 1 5kw and it is crazy efficient. The dam thing heats the entire house and can't turn the downstairs into sauna within minutes if allowed. Have to be careful with it and run it slow with not much wood or the wife moans and opens the window. Even in the depths of winter. Worth a look. SpringDon
Only had the morso so I can’t help with the choice. The 6143 had good air wash, was very controlable, well made and was mostly cast iron. Only thing I’d say against it was that the output wasn’t great for the size
Walker570
Have two Clearviews and would not have any other.

R1nut
Be aware the contura has a fixed baffle plate, you will need a sweep who knows what he is doing or a access plate on the vit pipe!
novice cushie shooter
Thanks gents. Yeah the gent installing it has already mentioned he needs an access plate.
R1nut
Have a look at charlton and jenrick, I’ve come across a few now and they are very good!
Bazooka Joe
I've got a Morso multi fuel, wouldn't swap it for a gold pig, excellent stoves, cannot comment on the Contura though.
Muddy Funker
Morso badger here. Had to do fully refurb on it when we moved in but it's great now. Check out dowling stoves, industrial but I love the designs.
yates
I’ve had the contura for the last five years and found it to be excellent
novice cushie shooter
Thanks gents. Sounds like both are reliable brands. Cbeers
figgy
Friend has a Contura and speaks highly of it. Nice modern looking stove that has lovely flames from what it does to the logs. looked at the Moro’s online and they have the same style. The Contura is 79% and the Morso is 72.9% efficient. Will 6% more wood sway you. Edited October 22, 2018 by figgy
novice cushie shooter
No figgy but the distance to consumables may. 10cm for the contura and 40cm for the morso. I know you get paneling to reduce that but its just more hassle
old man
Don't consider a Yeoman Exmoor. Curved glass costs +£120 to replace.
novice cushie shooter
Thanks all, ive plumped for the contura 510 mainly for the distance to combustables is so good. There was a curveball at the showroom when i went to order it as they had just (as in still in the box) a brand new morso that has a low distance to combustables but couldnt be swayed. 2 week delivery and fitting later in the month. What will i need accessories wise?
figgy
Wood wood and more wood. Some welders gauntlets for adding a fresh log. Any companion set you like the look of will do. Get a right angled log poker, don’t want to go poking into the expensive refractory lining.

figgy
Don’t forget to buy a magnetic flue temperature gauge. Modern wood burners can run at quite low temps but you still need to maintain the correct flue temp
