Ultrastu
Try to eliminate the unwanted elements in the phots (distracting background elements ) . And play with the lighting to get different effects and contrast/colours

Centrepin
It's good, but to be really sharp try using a tripod. At macro distances even image stab can shake.👍

I was losing the light and on a not very good tripod the f22 took 0.8 sec so not ideal and the lens had no IS.

Use a strong fishing rod rest, adjustable with a 3/8 to camera adaptor, couple of quid off Ebay, made of brass, last a lifetime. Use the cameras timer. In macro you need a smaller aperture. 5.6 or under. I would have gone for 2.8 unless you can go lower. I always work in aperture value only and allow the camera to sort the speed. A small aperture will blur the background leaving the foreground sharp and clear. Edited February 1, 2020 by Centrepin
