Cornish lad
Hi Guys, in light of this virus what are people thinking regarding ordering /rearing for next season there gamebirds ,just don't know what to do it's looking like this could keep going on for a while heard them say that even when it clears now could well come back next winter 😳😳😪
markm
It’s inevitable it will until a vaccine is produced. We may have to shoot but not socialise in cabins, pubs etc. It would be easy to keep 2M from each other when beating and shooting. Plus you’re outdoors anyway, no worse than walking down a street. Hell wish I could have kept some of my beaters more than 2m apart when I ran a shoot. 😂
kennett
Put my bird order in before it all kicked off and covers will be ordered this week. According to some sources it will be around forever and come back every winter like normal flu, but be less of an issue as people build an immunity to it. The Americans are also looking at the possibility that like other viruses of the same sort, it will fizzle out after all the easily infected have been. Life will return to normal and I would hate to be sat round like a spare **** all next winter with nothing to do!

Walker570
Hopefully by then the PANIC will have died down. I have 14 days booked already.
Nmb
We are looking at getting owns ready with smaller teams doing the work rather than larger squads like normal. 2800 birds were ordered prior to all this so will make sure to get their pens ready then reevaluate what other jobs can realistically be done eg stiles, ride cutting etc. It’s certainly strange times but hopefully we can all battle away and keep things going. marsh man
With things changing for the worse on a daily basis I fear the shoots up and the country are in for some nervous times ahead , will the guns still be able to afford it ?, will the older ones still be in isolation ? , there will be loads of ifs and buts before the season start and only time will tell, good luck everybody . The Heron
If you look at China where it started it is only just starting to receed and there has been reinfections from returning Chinese I have not booked any days yet as like a lot of people I am waiting to see how it pan's out. Walker570
Personally I feel I need to show support where shoots have decided to keep going. All the shoots I book on are commercial shoots not syndicates and I have dealt with the organiser for a number of years and trust his word that deposits will be repaid if things force a close down. I risk I am willing to take to hoepfully show shoots it is worth carrying on and most and more importantly keep their Game Keeper/s in a job. That’s all well and good your going to get your deposit back! If it comes October and we still have in place social distancing our we have a second wave of this virus?? You get your deposit back is that supporting shoots???? All the work and cost that goes into the season to be lost would you have the balls to go a head this season. So how the **** are you supporting a shoot when you expect your deposit back when a shoot as outlaid tens of thousands and come the season we are still in the same position????? Who is giving the Shoot their money back???? But your keeping a keeper in a job but bankrupting a shoot. All shots need guns like yourself

I am showing support as are the shoots involved by looking to the future and hoping all goes well which I feel it will. They will appreciate that somebody has the necessary to show them support in the first place. I did not say I would accept the return of my deposit and would in all essence lay it over to the next season and yes I fully appreciate that may involve some additional funding too.
