And Aston Martin looks doomed, certainly in it's current guise. Says something when even the luxury brands are feeling the squeeze.

Luxury goods are nearly always the first to be hit. During the financial crisis Aston Martin were desperate to shift cars and were doing ridiculous deals if you were willing to buy enough. But I agree that they may be doomed this time.

Who on earth produces an suv costing £158000 in this day and age as usual the shop floor staff will suffer where as the management will leave with good pensions and a golden hand shake

Lots of car makers, and they were selling plenty of them before CV19.

Not only dealers. I know a few people who clubbed together to buy them.

Like buying the party box offer on pizzas? Buy two get one free. Funny! I wonder how the salesman introduces the offer ... Can't do much for the resale value though,

I was speaking to my postman this morning. He was saying how busy they are. Fewer letters though but all parcels. Anyway, considering he comes into contact with many people each day on his round and at the sorting office, guess how many people he knows of who have had the virus? None. Surprised me.

It's been pretty rampant in our local Royal Mail DO, one death of a guy in his 40's that I'm aware of.

In my opinion Land/Range Rover will not be far behind them the days of big 4x4’s are numbered with the virus, diesel & environmental issues.

I am guilty of working on Cayenne 1 in 2000 and I told them they were having a larf (I had done a year in 1990 at their styling studio), "no we really think it will sell", and sell it has, more than their other lines do. Then I went onto Touareg, Q7, Q5 and finished off my carrier at RR on the Cullinan, a right load of IMO.

Rich effers will always buy to impress other rich effers.

That"s the world.

Absolutely,  no one buying top end cars is worried about the resale price,  if they were they wouldn't buy them new to begin with.

I doubt it,  I know lads in their twenties driving round in new Range rovers, they haven't bought them it's all on payments.

Yes plenty of lads in their 20’s driving around in new Range Rovers on PCP’s at the moment but very soon many many of those  lads will be without a job.

Probably not,  yes some industries are going to take a hit, but many many are going to go back to work.

I don’t think it’s good news if Land Rover have gone cap in hand to the government for a 1 billion pound loan this my friend is just the tip of the iceberg mark my words the housing market is next.

I've thought about my response and your right, but the government can't afford to have millions of extra unemployed,  I'd hazzard a guess they are giving loans to companies such as LRJ at very competitive rates,  so why would they not ask?

While industries like aviation are going to take a really big hit, people will still drive, builders are building and people will want what they had before.
