Farmboy91
Does anyone on here own one? I've lusted after one for years, I couldn't have been much more than 10 or 12, my neighbour had spilt up from her old man and showed me he's collection of air guns, there was some sort of springer with a scope on, a pistol along with 3 or 4 others but it was the Stutzen what grabbed me. She wanted £300 for the lot Inc the cabinet they were in, unfortunately at that age no one would lend me £300 😂. I have flirted with buying one as recently as last year, had my eye on a few on freeads before they decided they didn't like our kind anymore. I don't plan on hunting with it, more of a back garden plinker. Even if you lot say there rubbish I'll probably still end up with one 😂. Farmboy91
@Whitebridges only if you wouldn't mind..... 😁 1 minute ago, TIGHTCHOKE said: And then copy the picture and look at it every now and then! I could print it over 3 or 4 sheets of A4 and stand it next to the other air guns for now 👍😂

bruno22rf
They are stunning looking tools but I think it's the rarity rather than the capability that makes them desirable nowadays - if you compare one to ,say, the HW80 (available around the same time) then I believe that the shortcomings would be apparent. The true Stutzen (BSA) has the tap loading system and not the rotary breach so don't get fooled into buying the "pretender" - if you can find one with open sights fitted, sell your soul, Car and then Wife to buy it. Farmboy91
Thanks for your reply @bruno22rf, yeah I'm not expecting big performance, I'll be happy to take it out and punch some paper or a few tin cans in the garden. I'll remember that regarding the loading system, cheers 👍. Hopefully I won't have to part with too much, been a rough 10 months or so and I'm looking forward to treating myself. Whitebridges
To my eye, lovely looking things but in all honesty this one didn't shoot particularly well both accuracy and power so i let it go.They fetch very good money!

Sws
Found it stashed away! Not had it out in over a decade I’d imagine! Put a pellet through it and seemed very pokey still. I’ll have to put it over the croney see what it’s still at. It used to be very accurate.... I’ll let you know what it’s like tomorrow once I’ve got it set up! Whitebridges
Sws, that's very nice indeed. Boxed and looks like you've got the paperwork as well. I noticed it's a .177 which i think i'm right in saying is pretty rare for a Stutz. Looking forward to hearing how she shoots! ditchman
how on earth did it stay in the box..........................................
Sws
It’s not always been in the box! Was a present from my dad when I was about 14. Used it all the time back then. Must have been put away well over 20 years ago. To be fair there are slight dinks in the stock and very light pin head size rust patches on barrel. I’ll have to find someone who can touch it up! From what I read last night the .177 is pretty rare, along with the later .25 From some reason I get the feeling the one I looked at all those years ago was a .
rovercoupe
I have a stock for one that I was going to graft onto a mk6 but have never found one. A mk5 will work but has the wrong cocking lever and would have to cut the stock to fit and never had the spuds to actually do it!
GarethR
I’ve got two 😉 the RB2 in .25 & tap loader in .22 boxes with original paperwork and scope. if I knew how to compress the photos I’d share some images
Chaz25
Nice gun always wanted one, did not know they came in .25 that would be the one I would like!
bruno22rf
Pretty sure that the "real" Stutzen only came in .177 or .22 - others are the Gamo versions - not for me I'm afraid.
johnbaz
I've an old tap loading Stuttie, I stripped it down to get it reblued, Still in bits years later but i'll have time to get it done soon as i've had enough of working in a heavy foundry (42 years) and am getting made redundant!! ☺️🙂 John 👍 On 04/10/2020 at 06:53, bruno22rf said: Pretty sure that the "real" Stutzen only came in .177 or .22 - others are the Gamo versions - not for me I'm afraid. I also have a Gamo Stutzen, Complete and utter junk compared to the Beesa product!.. The underlever is cheap and tacky beyond belief!!
