Harry136
As those of us who are Browning fans will be aware, they have released the Maxus 2 this year in various camo schemes. I received an email from them this morning stating that they have no plans to produce the Maxus 2 with wooden furniture this year. Bit disappointing, but theres always next year! Gerry78
I don’t like the look of them think they look like the Winchester SX Series Il just stick with my beretta xplor
Lloyd90
What’s the difference between the Maxus and Maxus 2?
Harry136
I’m not keen due to the rubber inserts on the furniture and that they have stamped “maxus” on the underside on the forend in big letters

I have to agree, it looks like a very close clone of the SX4 but for significantly more money. Ordered one of these, delivery is forecasted to be Apr/May this year, New Affinity 3. You will get good shooting out of FRANCHI for half the price the mate shot one on foreshore for years with good effect 👍I like browning but think there trying too hard the original maxus in my opinion is better looking gun

I like the look and feel of the Maxus Mk1 and shot reasonably well with mine. Looking fwd to the arrival of the new one, it seems Franchi/Benelli have taken on board all the points that needed improvement. Larger loading port, larger bolt handle and bolt release handle. The reviews from the USA are all good and the dimensions are virtually identical to the old one, so fingers crossed.

figgy
Oh dear they've gone and done it the same as the sx4 to the SX3. Same gun few bits changed. The Wicked wings with bronze cerakote looks good. Edited February 5, 2021 by figgy
grahamch
Will stick with my Maxus mk1 , a super gun and the speed load is great. Am left handed and shoot it no bother, on the other hand l has a Benelli M2 left handed and it was the worst gun l have ever owned!
Smokersmith
I’m having great fun using my Browning 2000 on the corvids .... Proper blueing on the receiver, still deep black after 40 years. One engineered to that quality today would cost ‘000’s I guess.
Guest cookoff013
most new guns are stripped down versions of older. even beretta and benelli are making the sl80 and that first came out when dinosaurs were in.
Smokersmith
Perhaps not the 2000 though.....?
Houseplant
Seems like they have changed the forend locking arrangement too. I like the system on the old versions of the Maxus. It is a bit different to most other semi-autos.
figgy
Houseplant it's great how fast the forend comes off and back on.
